Natsu came into the restaurant, looking at all the people dressed up for Halloween. But the one that caught his eye especially was the blonde woman dressed as a witch, sitting at a table, and looking out the window. Lucy Heartfilia. The girl of his dreams. The love of his life. He took a deep breath, and walked to the table quietly to be able to at least surprise her.
And he did.

Lucy was still looking out the window when someone popped out of the table. "BOO!" The blonde nearly fell out of her seat. "Natsu!" "What? It's Halloween. You're supposed to." Lucy sighed, but was happy that her lover was here. "I like your costume by the way", he said. "Thanks. I like yours too", she said, inspecting the dragon slayer's costume. He was covered in fake stitches and had two fake bolts in his head. "It's completely different from what I was expecting." "You always said I know how to surprise you." Lucy giggled. "You sure do."
A waiter came by and took their orders, then they were alone together again. "So I take it your costume was the reason you were a little late?" "You have no idea. When I said I wanted stitches, Gray and Gajeel offered to beat me up to help with that." "You fought them, didn't you?" Natsu smirked in triumph. Lucy sighed. "Why do I even ask?" "Did you have any interesting stories about your costume?", asked the salmon haired man. "Not much. But Erza wanted to get Jellal a blueberry costume. I wonder if that poor man is okay."
Natsu trembled a bit. Last Halloween, Erza wanted the whole team to wear matching outfits, and she sure did not take no for an answer. So Lucy was right to be concerned for Jellal.

The waiter returned with their orders. It was a cake with two cups of coffee. "If Erza were here, she'd eat this whole thing in a second", joked Natsu. "But she's not, since she's with Jellal." "Jellal, your sacrifice shall not be in vain." The couple each took a fork and scooped up pieces of cake, inserting them into their mouths. They gushed at the taste. "Now I'm definitely happy Erza isn't here", said Lucy. "And have her eat all this cake? I agree!" They ate more for a bit until deciding to take sips from their coffee. Lucy placed her empty cup down and sighed happily, rubbing her stomach. "I don't think I'm gonna be able to finish the cake." "Then be glad you've got me!" Natsu took the rest of the cake and gobbled it all up. Lucy laughed at the mess around his mouth.
"Since I'm so full, I guess it's time we wrap this up."
They ordered a check, paying for their meal and leaving the building.

Natsu looked at the smile on Lucy's face while she held his hand. She looked at all the children in costumes running around with joy. "What I would give to be a kid again. To go out and dress up, asking for candy." "But if you were a kid now, then you wouldn't have me." "True." The two lovers arrived Lucy's house. "Good night, Natsu. Thanks for the date." Natsu kissed his girlfriend, watching her go into her house. As he turned to go back to his own home, Lucy called out for him. "You know, I could use help taking off this costume."
The salmon haired man ran in a blinding flash back into his lover's house.
