Tohka stirred the pan that had eggs in it, in the process of making a delicious breakfast. Once the egg was well cooked, she placed it in the plate beside the bacon and slices of toast. She even added slices of strawberry.
"That can't all be for you, can it?", asked a familiar voice. Tohka turned around to face her husband, Shido. "Of course not!", she exclaimed. She then noticed the near absence of color on Shido's face, and the dark rings under his eyes as well. "Are you alright?", the young woman asked. "Of course", said Shido. "Why wouldn't I be-ACHOO!" The sound of her husband's sneeze made Tohka move back a bit. "Shido, are you sick?" "What makes you say tha-ACHOO!", Shido said with another sneeze.
He sniffed, and watched his wife give him a serious look. "Eat your breakfast, then go back to bed." Shido chuckled. He once said the exact same thing to her, only not so sternly. "Tohka, I'm fine. Seriously." The said woman approached her husband and karate chopped his head. "No! You are sick! You will climb back into bed after breakfast!"
Shido backed up in fear, and nodded. "Good. Now sit down and I'll feed you." The young man nodded his head again and sat down by the dinner table. Tohka took the two plates of breakfast and set them down. She picked up a strawberry with her fork and offered it to Shido. "Eat this first. It's a fruit, so it's more healthy." "I don't think that's how it works..." Tohka grabbed Shido by the head and brought him close, holding the strawberry near his face. "Eat it."
Shido gulped and opened his mouth, letting his wife insert the small red fruit into it. She then continued feeding him, this time without any force used. It remained that way until the young man's breakfast was finished. "I-I'm going to bed", he said, careful as to not feel his wife's wrath. "Smart choice", she said.
Shido laughed awkwardly and made his way up the stairs. Tohka looked through the cabinets and took out a box of pills for sinuses. She tapped some water into a glass, and took it, along with the pill, up to her husband. As she entered the room, she saw him under the blankets, sniffing miserably. "Here. Drink this", said Tohka, placing the glass of water on the bedside table. She handed Shido the pill, which he inserted into his mouth and swallowed down with the water. "Now get some rest." "Yes, honey." Tohka gave her lover a smile and left the room, leaving Shido to close his eyes and fall asleep.
The young woman sat down on the couch and took out her phone. She dialed in a number, and awaited for the other end to respond. "Hey, Tohka. Am I an aunt yet?", asked the other end, who was none other than Kotori.
"Not yet", chuckled Tohka. "I'm calling because Shido is a bit sick at the moment." "Sick how, exactly?" "He sneezes a lot. And sniffs. I just wanted to know what to do." "Sinuses. Okay, what have you done already so far to treat him?" Tohka thought about everything she did earlier. "I gave him breakfast. And a pill. Oh, and I let him go to sleep." "Okay, good, good. Traditionally, you would have to make chicken soup for him."
"Okay, got it. Anything else?" "If he still sniffs a lot later, just give him another pill." "Alright. Thanks Kotori." "You're welcome. And make some babies already. I wanna be an aunt." Tohka chuckled with a small blush on her face, and ended the call. She walked to the kitchen and prepared to make chicken soup.
. . .
Shido awoke to the sound of his room door opening up. "Tohka?" "I brought soup", she said. Shido chuckled. "I'd say it smells great, but I can't exactly smell at the moment." Tohka giggled at her husband's wit. "Sorry about how I acted earlier. I shouldn't have forced you to eat like that." "It's okay. Looking at it now, I am definitely sick."
The couple shared a laugh together, which ended upon on Shido sneezing. "Okay. Open wide", said Tohka as she scooped some of the soup up in a spoon. She moved it towards her lover's mouth, which he allowed it to be inserted into. He quickly swallowed it due to it being hot. The next scoop Tohka blew softly on to cool it down.
Shido ate it again, this time without freaking out from the heat. "How is it?", asked his wife. "Well, I can't exactly taste much from being sick, but it isn't bad. Nice job."
Tohka smiled brightly as her husband petted her head. She then continued to give him a few more scoops of the soup, until the bowl was completely empty.
"Here. Drink another pill, then keep resting." "Yes ma'am", said Shido. He took a glass of water and used it to swallow down the pill. After that, he snuggled back under the blankets. Tohka pressed a kiss on her fingers and put them against his lips. "Rest easy, Shido." "I will with you here."
