Valentines Day is just around the corner, so until the day of love is here, the next few one shots will be focused on that holiday.
Nene opened the oven and put the tray in, finally getting a chance to sit down and relax for a bit. She waited excitedly. She wanted the donuts to just finish up. She wanted to see the look on her boyfriend's face when he received this gift, especially on Valentines Day of all days. While she waited, the white haired girl began to think about the gift she would receive. The thought excited her.
Nene's little daydreaming session was then brought to close by the sound of the oven. "Guess they're done." She put on her oven mitts and opened the door. She took out the donuts, which had heart shaped holes in the middle. She took a bowl which was full of cinnamon sugar and rolled the donuts in them until they stuck to them.
And with that, the treats were officially done.
Nene took a bag, then used a marker to write on it. It wasn't a long sentence. Just the name of her boyfriend with a heart drawn next to it. She carefully placed the donuts inside of the bag and tied it shut with a ribbon.
. . .
Nene walked around, searching for her boyfriend among the various people giving gifts to their valentines. Unbeknownst to her, from a slight distance, was a black haired young man who spotted the white haired girl. He rested his hands behind his back and casually walked over to Nene.
Once the male was close, his hands covered the girl's eyes. She didn't freak out, though. Instead, she just smiled and rested herself against the young man. "Hey, Amane."
"Aw. No freaking out this time?" Nene giggled and made a fake flustered reaction. "Better?" Amane smiled. "Much." He pulled his girlfriend closer by the waist and gave her a kiss on the lips. "Happy Valentines Day." "Happy Valentines Day", Nene said back. Amane reached into his pocket. "This is for you, my sweetheart."
Nene gasped at what she saw. It was a hair clip in the shape of a skull, like hers, except it was pink and had a flower on it.
"Can I put it..." "Go right ahead." Nene said excitedly prepared her hair and attached the new hair clip. "How do I look?" "Beautiful as always", said Amane, using his phone to show her. She looked at her reflection, admiring the accessory. Her moment then became interrupted by Amane picked her up bridal style. "So? Where's my gift? Unless you've forgotten to get me one on this special day."
Nene pretended to be sad. "No, I didn't get you anything." Amane looked a little upset too. "Oh." "I made you something!", exclaimed Nene, showing her bag. Amane was now surprised. His girlfriend opened the bag and took out a donut. "You know me so well!", said Amane, gently putting Nene down and taking the donut. He then noticed what stood on the bag. "Awww. Thank you."
The girl bashfully looked aside.
Amane took another donut from the bag and offered it to her. "Just because it's my gift, doesn't mean I shouldn't share."
Nene smiled and took the donut. "It's yummy." "Obviously, because you made it", replied Amane.
The couple decided to sit down and eat the delicious snacks together. "I just noticed the holes are shaped like hearts", stated Amane. "Yep. That's what I was going for", said Nene. "Clever girl."
They continued to eat all the donuts, until only one was let. Amane took it and broke it in half, giving the one to Nene."Can I keep the bag?", he asked. "Why?" "It's got my name on it! It even has a heart drawn next to it." Nene looked at her boyfriend's pleading eyes, and sighed. "Of course." "Yay!" Amane lunged forward and gave his lover a deep kiss, then a hug.
"What did I do to deserve you", she thought.
