"This is pretty comfy", said Blake, sitting in a camping chair. Yang walked over to her and sat on her lap. "It really is." Blake rolled her eyes. Her blonde girlfriend just laughed. They both then continued to look around the camping store.
Blake had walked into a section focused on fishing, as evidenced by the fishing rods and various forms of lure. "This looks like a pretty accurate fish", said the faunus as she looked at one of the lures. "Is it male or female?", Yang asked jokingly. Blake giggled. "Don't know. Guess that's what makes the fish want to get close to it. It's a perfect trap, like my dad would always say." Yang raised one of her eyebrows. "When did he say that?" "Whenever he came up with a way to catch fish. They were pretty effective. But there were times we would just fish the old fashion way." "We? As in you and your dad?"
Blake nodded. "Yep. Me and my dad were pretty fond of fishing. I mean, why else do you think I love them?" "Because you're part cat?" Blake laughed. "Well, I guess that's part of it." Yang looked at the fishing gear on display. "So you're a fishing fan?" "Wouldn't say a fan, just enjoy it. It's relaxing."
Yang put her hand to her chin as she was lost in thought. "Yang? What are you thinking about?", asked the blonde's girlfriend. "Just wondering what fishing is like. I never tried it before." Blake bumped her waist against her lover's. "Maybe I could show you some time." Yang smiled. "That would be pretty nice."
. . .
Ghira opened up the front door of his home, seeing an unexpected visitor. "Yang!" "Hi Ghira!" The two of them shared a big bear hug and a laugh. "So you still treating my daughter well, or am I gonna have to get violent?" "Don't worry, big guy. As her girlfriend, I punch anyone who even looks at her the wrong way." Ghira chuckled, patting Yang's shoulder. "Good to hear. So what brings you here?"
"Funny story, Blake and I had an interesting conversation yesterday. I never knew she was into fishing." "Oh yeah. She was", said Ghira. "But because of the Grimm and her becoming a huntress kinda got in the way of that. Even so, we still had our moments." Yang awkwardly scratched the back of her head. "So you don't have a problem with me taking her out for a fishing trip?" Ghira was shocked. "You really want to do that?" "Yeah. I mean, I'm not familiar with the whole thing, but I guess Blake can show me the ropes." Ghira smiled and gestured the blonde girl to follow him. "You're going to need the right gear then."
The two of them walked over to a cabinet and opened it up, showing a collection of fishing gear. "You also may need to change. Can't have going on your first fishing trip wearing the wrong outfit."
. . .
Blake heard a flurry of knocks coming from her door. She made her way to it, opening it up and seeing her girlfriend standing before her. What was strange though was that she was clad in an olive green button up shirt with grey cargo pants. In her hands were two fishing rods and a cooler box.
"Let's go fishing!", Yang exclaimed. Blake was confused. "Um... what?" "Fishing! Just you and me! I thought that maybe you could relive some good old memories." Blake smiled. "You didn't have to do this." "But I wanted to. Plus, maybe you could teach me how to fish." The female faunus leaned in and pecked her girlfriend's cheek. "Let me go get dressed."
While the faunus went to change into a different outfit, Yang waited excitedly. After about three minutes, Blake had returned in her fishing attire. She was dressed in a white tank top, with a violet button up shirt over it. But instead of being buttoned closed, the bottom part was tied into a knot. For leggings, the young woman wore jeans. Her hair was also tied into a ponytail with a dark blue bow. Right now, she looked absolutely sexy to Yang.
"Come on! I know just the place for us!", said Blake with excitement, taking her girlfriend's hand and dragging her along.
. . .
Yang placed down the cooler box, while Blake inhaled the air around them. "So what now?", asks Yang. Her girlfriend smiled and took the fishing rods, handing the one to her. "Here's the lure", Blake said, taking out a small plastic object. "I've always wondered what these were for", said Yang. "It's in the name. They lure the fish." "Because they look like hot lady fish?" Blake laughed. "I guess so, yeah." Yang smiled at her girlfriend. "Let's get this party started, then!"
The blonde pulled her rod back and swiped forward, watching the line shoot towards the water. "Looks like I didn't need to explain that part", chuckled Blake. "Yeah, I've seen it in a movie", said Yang. Her girlfriend chuckled and threw in her line as well. "Now we wait."
The two young women sat down on the grass, waiting for a bite. "So, what do we do?", asked Yang. "We talk", answered Blake. "Just until a fish comes up." "How long will that take?" "Probably not long. There are a lot of fish in this river, so one is bound to bite."
As if on cue, something pulled on Blake's line. She stood up, using all her strength to try and reel it in. Yang chanted her girlfriend on until she succeeded in getting the fish out the water. It was oddly small for something strong enough to pull on a line. As it hovered in the air, a bird flew in, grabbing it. Blake dashed into the lake, striking the flying animal with her fishing rod. It dropped the fish, which the female faunus caught in her mouth. Her line shot out of her rod, which she spun around to shoo the bird away.
It was as if the world had gone in slow motion for Yang, as she stared in awe at how badass and sexy Blake looked to her right now. "No one steals my fish", said the cat girl after taking the fish out of her mouth. She turned back to her lover, who immediately tried to hide the fact that she was checking her out. "So is fishing usually like that?" "Not really. My dad swung his hook around once and it got caught in his neck. He still has a tiny scar from it."
Yang winced. "Sounds painful." Blake shrugged. "As the saying goes, 'tis but a flesh wound." Yang chuckled, then felt a tug on her line. "I got one!" "Quick! Reel it in!"
The blonde brawler spun her spinning reel, using all the strength she had to pull in her catch. "It's strong, I'll give it that!" "You can do it, Yang!" The said girl smirked and whipped her rod back, bringing her fish out. Once it plopped onto the ground, the two women could see just how big it was. "Now we know why it was so tough. The thing is as big as my arm!", said Yang. "More like the forearm", said Blake. "But that's impressive. You caught a big fish on your first try."
A cocky grin appeared on Yang's face. "Yep. I'm a reel pro." Blake rolled her eyes. "I think my dad would love to cook this." Yang licked her lips. "It does look delicious."
. . .
Time had passed, and it was time to return home. "So did you have fun?", asked Blake. "Actually, yeah. Fishing is actually pretty relaxing. I can see why people enjoy it." "Yeah. You were pretty good for a beginner." Yang looked at her girlfriend. "I had a good teacher." Blake smiled and leaned in, planting a kiss on her lover's lips.
"Now come on. I'm practically starving here. Let's go cook this fish!" "Alright, no need to be pushy", said Blake. The two lovers both laughed and made their way home.
