"What is this man thinking?", said Ameri, looking at a manga Iruma had just finished reading for her. "Isn't he worried about falling?"
Iruma walked over to his girlfriend. "I think I see it as an expression of love. You know, willing to take risks for her, and all that." Once Ameri heard this, it made a little sense. "How romantic", she gushed. She then looked at Iruma. "Would... would you do something like this?" The bluenette scratched his cheek. "I'm... not sure. I guess depending on the situation, I would."
Ameri smiled. Her boyfriend wasn't being cocky. He was just genuinely being honest. It's one of the things she loved about him. "Do you want me to do something like that?", asked Iruma. His girlfriend lunged at him and hugged him tight.
"No! You could get hurt! And you're too precious to die!" "O-okay."Ameri was happy with this answer. But little did the demoness know.
. . .
It was early in the night, and Ameri was standing at the balcony of her home. She stared up at the stars, not helping but being reminded of Iruma's eyes.
Her thoughts were then interrupted by the sound of something scraping against limestone. More specifically, someone.A hand grabbed hold of the stone railing, and pulled up a certain human boy up. "Wow. That went better than expected", said Iruma, who had completed his climbing. He regained his breath, and looked Ameri, who was frozen in shock.
Before he could say hello, the redheaded demoness ran to him and grabbed him by his shirt. The young boy was lifted up and shaken rapidly. "I told you not to do something like that! Why didn't you listen?!"
"I just wanted to be romantic", said Iruma, dizzy from the shaking. Ameri blushed upon hearing this. She had to admit, this was a pretty sweet gesture."Do you want to come in?" "That's why I'm here, isn't it?"
The couple walked into Ameri's room, sitting down on the bed. Iruma took out a manga. It was the first volume of a new series they were starting. "What's this about?" "It's a manga based off of Romeo and Juliet." Ameri was confused. "Oh, right. Human thing. It's a famous play from my world. It's about two people who fall in love, but they are both from rival families."
Ameri's eyes widened. "Forbidden love? How romantic!" Iruma chuckled and began to read.
As he got far into the story, his girlfriend noticed something on one of the panels. It was the iconic scene of Romeo visiting Juliet by the balcony.
It reminded her of what Iruma did a few minutes earlier.. . .
Iruma walked to the front door and was about to leave. "I'll go look for more tomorrow." "Iruma wait!" The bluenette turned around and looked at his girlfriend.
"In the manga, when Romeo did all those things for Juliet... would you do something like that for me?"
Iruma froze, then blushed. "Those are some pretty scary things to do." Ameri became a little upset.
"But if it's to see someone I love, then I'll take the risk. Or at least, I'll try. Then again, I did climb a balcony for you, so I guess taking a risk isn't such a big deal."Ameri smiled. She crouched down to be the same level as Iruma. They leaned in and gave each other a loving kiss, then a hug. "See you tomorrow", Iruma said. "See you tomorrow", Ameri replied, waving goodbye with a lovesick face.
