Yang let out a yawn before her eyes slowly opened. She looked to her side, and looked at her lover who was still sleeping. The blonde quietly crawled out of bed without waking Blake up. She tiptoed to the kitchen and took out all the ingredients that she needed to make a delicious breakfast, such as flour, egg, milk, etc.
Yang was a little bit in a hurry, as she wanted the breakfast to be done by the time Blake wake up, just to add to the surprise. But still, she needed to be careful, otherwise Blake would be getting a crappy breakfast on her birthday.
Back in the bedroom, Blake was slowly coming out of her sleep. She looked to her side to see that Yang was not in bed with her. Thanks to her cat ears, the young woman could hear the sizzling of a pan in the kitchen, which brought a smile to her face. She was no idiot to forget her own day of birth. And she certainly was no idiot to celebrate it smelling bad. The faunus climbed out of bed and made her way to the bathroom, then prepared herself for a nice relaxing shower. She turned the tap, and allowed the water to pour down onto her.
Yang could hear the shower from the kitchen, getting excited as she knew her girlfriend was now awake. Luckily, breakfast was almost done.
The blonde scooped out the pancakes and put them on Blake's plate. She added a tiny square of butter at the top and poured syrup onto it. It was finally finished. Now all that was needed was for Blake to eat it.
The said woman walked down the stairs. Her nose hovered in the air as the scent of breakfast filled her nostrils. She walked further down and saw the plate of pancakes on the table. As she smiled at the effort put into the meal, her girlfriend snuck up to her from behind. The blonde's arms swung around the faunus' waist and hugged her tightly. Blake jumped at first, but calmed down once she recognized the warm, loving aura.
"Hey there, birthday girl", Yang said softly. She placed a kiss on Blake's cheek, forcing a chuckle out of her. "So, pancakes?" "Just for you, babe." Blake pulled out a chair and sat in front of her breakfast. "You dig in. I'm gonna go get me some of my own."
Blake smiled and picked up her cutlery. She cut off a piece of pancake for herself and popped it into her mouth. She hummed in satisfaction at the taste. "I always knew I was a master chef", said a boastful Yang upon sitting down.
"Does this mean there's going to be a cake?", asked Blake. Yang chuckled. "We'll see." Her girlfriend raised an eyebrow. "By the way", began the blonde. "What should I get you? And don't give that cheesy stuff saying I'm a gift, which I am flattered about, because I genuinely want to get you something." Blake giggled. "Surprise me. You pretty good at that, judging by this morning." "Why thank you, kind ma'am", said Yang, forcing another chuckle out of her faunus lover. "Come on. Let's finish this up. I wanna take the birthday girl out for today." Blake nodded and continued to eat her breakfast. Yang was just gobbling hers all up.
"Slow down. You're gonna choke", said Blake. The blonde brawler just give a big smile with her stuffed mouth. The black haired young woman rolled her eyes and just kept eating her pancakes. Yang, obviously, had finished her breakfast, and ran upstairs to get herself ready for the day out she had planned for her girlfriend. Blake could only smile at her girlfriend's enthusiasm.
. . .
"Shall we, m'lady?", Yang asked, holding out her arm. "We shall", replied Blake, hooking her arm around the brawler's. The two women walked over to Yang's motorcycle, boarding it and putting helmets onto their heads. The blonde revved up the engine, and drove down the road while her girlfriend wrapped her arms around her waist.
After about a fifteen minute drive, the couple came to their destination. "What's a birthday without cake, right?", said Yang as Blake looked at the restaurant they have arrived at. "You promise not go gobble it all down?", the faunus asked. Her girlfriend lifted her pinky. "Pinky swear." Blake chuckled and made a pinky swear with Yang, then walked with her into the restaurant. They made their way to the tables set up by the couches, which is where they decided to sit. "You sit on the couch", said Yang. "A comfortable seat for the birthday girl."
"You love spoiling me, don't you?" Yang shrugged. "Just trying to give ya a good birthday, babe", she said as she sat down.
"Speaking of spoiling, what do you wanna get?" Blake looked at all the meals the restaurant had to offer. "That one", she said, pointing to one of the cakes on display. "I like that idea", said Yang. A waitress approached them, asking for their order. "A slice of that cake over there", said the blonde brawler. "Could we also get some hot chocolate to drink, please?", said Blake.
The waitress nodded and went to go retrieve the orders the two women requested. "So, what do I get for the birthday girl as a gift?", asked Yang. Blake giggled. "I told you to surprise me." "But it's so hard. Plus, you say the same thing to me every year." "And every year you never let me down." Yang chuckled. "I guess I am pretty awesome, huh?" "That you are, Yang." Both girls shared a light laugh.
The waitress returned, holding a tray carrying two cups of hot cocoa and a plate with a slice of cake. "Here you go. Enjoy", she said. "Thank you", said Blake. Yang took her cup of hot cocoa and sipped it, humming in satisfaction at the taste. "That hits the spot." "I was in the mood for hot chocolate, so you're welcome", said Blake. "Why thank you, kitten", said Yang.
Blake picked up a fork, and took a piece of the cake. She let out a sound of delight upon putting it in her mouth. "Let me get in on that", said Yang, picking up her fork. She took a piece of cake for herself, and had the same reaction as her girlfriend. "Now that right there is some good cake", said the blonde. Blake nodded. "You know what, how about we take another slice home with us?", asked Yang.
"I like that idea", said Blake, taking another bite from the cake in front of her. "Does that means it's my birthday gift?" "Nah. I'm gonna get you something better."
The two women finished their meal, ordered another cake slice for takeaway, and made their way outside. Yang looked at the building that was across from the restaurant, seeing a book on display and getting an idea. "Wait here, Blake. I think I just found you your birthday gift." Blake did as her girlfriend told her and waited on the spot while the blonde female ran to the bookstore.
Yang entered the building, and approached the cashier. "Excuse me, how much for that book?", she asked, pointing at the book she saw earlier.
Blake still waited, until her lover finally returned. "So, you finally found my gift?" Yang smiled triumphantly and took something out of the bag she was holding. "Voila!" Blake's eyes widened at what Yang presented her. "Artemis Fowl: The Last Guardian?" "The last book in the series and the one you've been looking for for a while? Yes it is." Yang gave the book to her girlfriend, which she marveled at. She looked at her blonde lover, and hugged her.
"Thank you Yang. This was a great gift." "What can I say, I love listening to you read. Plus, I have been dying to know how the series ends." Blake looked at her girlfriend and placed a kiss on her lips. "Come on. Let's get home." "So you can read me this book?" "Maybe~", said Blake seductively, resting her hand on Yang's ass.
The blonde knew what this meant. "Now Kitten, you know it's your birthday, right?" "Then think of this as my second gift from you." Yang chuckled. "You dirty girl." Blake giggled and grabbed her girlfriend's hand, leading her to her motorcycle. "Careful. Don't drop the cake", said Yang. "I won't", replied Blake.
. . .
Blake slipped her shirt back on after she and Yang had their heated moment. "Is it weird that I want that cake after all of that?", asked Yang. "Ditto", said Blake. The two women walked downstairs to their dining room, where the takeaway cake sat in wait. They sat down together and took out the slice. Yang scooped up some of the icing and put on Blake's nose. They both shared a laugh, and began to eat.
Yang looked out the window, and saw a familiar car. "Guess we're gonna have to finish this later", she said and put the cake back in the box. As she walked away, the door opened, and two familiar faces ran in. "Happy birthday Blake!", exclaimed Ruby as she hugged the faunus. Weiss placed a cake she and her girlfriend brought onto the table. "Happy birthday", she said. "Is that it, ice queen?", asked Yang. Weiss sighed and hugged Blake. "Better?"
The front door opened again, this time it was Blake's parents. "Where's the birthday girl?", exclaimed Ghira. Blake ran to her father and gave him a hug, then did the same to her mother. "Looks like I'm not late", came a voice from the door, belonging to Taiyang.
Blake went to go give her girlfriend's father a hug. "So how has your day been so far?", asked the man. Blake looked at Yang, who looked back at her with a smile.
"It was great."
