Shouko was playing with her year old daughter, Chiyo, who clapped her hands while laughing happily. She held the child in her hands, swaying her side to side. The woman put her down, deciding to grab a toy for her daughter. She picked one up, and upon turning around, she spotted a sight that made her eyes as wide as saucers.
Chiyo was reaching out for her, while standing. Standing, something he has not done before.
Shouko let out a squeak of surprise, only for Chiyo to collapse on her butt. The baby girl was picked up by her mother and carried to the kitchen, where Tadano was busy washing dishes. He turned to see his wife run in with their daughter. "What's wrong?"
Shouko held Chiyo out, signaling that it has something to do with her. "What's wrong with Chiyo?" The quiet woman looked around, searching for some form of communication to use. She handed her daughter over to her husband, and dashed to go find her notepad.
She returned a few seconds later, and began writing at a rapid speed. Tadano read her writing, and was shocked. "Chiyo stood? As in on her legs?" Shouko nodded. Her lover looked at his daughter. "You stood?!" The infant only let out a giggle.
"This means she is very close to walking!", Tadano happily exclaimed. Shouko nodded. The couple both dashed into the living room, and placed their daughter on the floor. They stood a small distance away from her, and sat down. Tadano clapped his hands, holding out his arms for Chiyo to walk into.
She pushed herself up by her arms, and stood on her legs. Her parents became excited. "Come on! You can do it!" Chiyo's foot moved one step forward, and slowly but surely repeated the process. Shouko had cat ears pop out of her head as she silently cheered her daughter on.
It took about a minute and a half, but eventually Chiyo had collapsed into her father's arms. He lifted her up high into the air and cheered for her, making the baby laugh out loud. "We need to record this! Where's my phone?" Shouko held out Tadano's phone, which he took while handing Chiyo over to her. The little girl was placed on the floor again, and this time, her mother was the one holding her arms out.
Tadano pressed record on his phone, and directed it towards his little girl. She did what she did before, slowly but surely walking. Shouko waited excitedly.
Chiyo smiled at her mom as she walked toward her. Tadano kept recording with an excited smile.
The moment his daughter fell into his wife's arms, he let out a loud cheer. Shouko snuggled her cheek against her daughter's, smiling happily at her. Tadano walked over to his family and placed a kiss on his daughter's cheek. "Should I share this?", he asked his wife. Shouko nodded, and watched as her lover shared the video of their daughter among their friends and family.
Once that was done, the couple then continued to hug their daughter together.
