Yang and Blake drove together on their motorcycle to the Belladonna household, home to Blake's parents, Ghira and Kali. Yang gently helped her wife off the two wheeled vehicle.
"There they are!", cheered a blonde haired man at the door. "Dad!" Yang ran over to her father and hugged him. "Merry Christmas!"
"The party is in here, you know", said Qrow, who leaned against the wall. "Uncle Qrow!" Yang hugged the dark haired man. "How are you girls doing?" "Girls? Qrow, they're women, now." "And I'm older than them, so they are still girls to me."
The two men continued their squabbling while entering the main room, while Yang whispered into her wife's ear. "So, should we tell them?" "Not yet. But I've planned a perfect time to do it."
"Oh, now you've gotten me excited", said Yang, placing a big fat kiss on Blake's cheek.
"So I should keep quiet too, then?", asked Winter, who looked at the couple. "You bet", said Yang.
The three walked further into the house, joining the rest of the party.
"Yang! Blake!", exclaimed Ruby, running to her sister and sister-in-law. "Merry Christmas!" "Hey, Ruby", said Blake with a strained voice due to being bear hugged by Ruby. Once they were free, Yang saw Weiss on the couch, cradling her five month old son, August. "Hey Ice Queen", greeted Yang. Weiss glared at her. "Be happy I'm holding a baby, or you'd be dead." "Now now, girls, it's Christmas, so no fighting", said Kali. Yang chuckled. "Who wants eggnog!", exclaimed Ghira. "Does it have alcohol in it?", asked Blake. The male faunus looked to the side. "Not a lot." Everyone let out light laughter. "I won't be drinking too much. I have my child here, after all", said Weiss. "That means more for me then!", cheered Ruby, who then had her ear tugged by her wife. "August is also you're son." Blake looked at her father. "I won't be drinking any, Dad." "You sure?" "Pretty sure." "Suit yourself."
Everyone who wanted to took a glass of eggnog. Much to everyone's surprise, Yang toned down her drinking. Whenever she was asked about it, she always responded with "wait and see".
The blonde brawler sat beside her wife.
"When are we going to tell them, exactly?" "I was thinking when we open gifts." "What are you girls talking about?", asked Qrow. He then cried out in pain when he felt his ear being pinched and tugged. "Mind your own business, Qrow." "Ow! don't be like that!"
The time had come for the family to exchange gifts. Ruby and Weiss opened August's gifts, seeing a lot of baby products, no surprise. The infant immediately gained a fascination for the toys. Blake leaned close to Yang's ear. "It's time." Yang nodded and stood up with her wife, walking to the front of the room where the entire family could see them. "Everyone, we would like to give our gift to all of you."
The family were confused, except for Winter, who knew where this was going. "Well, where is it?", asked Taiyang. "Unfortunately, it can't be here today, but it is coming", said Yang. Blake walked forward. "As you all may know, Winter began a project to help same sex couples have biological children." Everyone nodded. It was only Weiss, however, who immediately put two and two together.
"We went their a few days ago, and...", Blake looked at Yang, who gave her a nod. The cat faunus looked at her family with an enthusiastic smile.
"We're having a baby!"
Everyone jumped up in excitement and ran to the couple. "We're going to be grandparents!", cheered Kali, while Ghira jumped around with his daughter and daughter-in-law in his arms. "You hear that Weiss? We're going to be aunts!", said Ruby. She crouched down to her son. "Guess what August? You're going to have a cousin!" August let out a light giggle, almost as if he understood his mother's words. "So, who's carrying the baby, if you don't mind me asking", said Qrow. "After much talk, Blake volunteered", said Yang. "Which I'm totally okay with!"
"Is that why you didn't want to drink so much?", Taiyang asked his daughter. "I had to be sober to deliver the big news, didn't I?" "Then that makes this gift a little less awkward", said Kali, as she handed the couple a present. They opened it together. Blake's hands flew to her mouth as Yang lifted the object up.
It was a purple onesie with cat ears on the top.
Blake looked at her parents. "We've kind of been wanting to have grandkids, so..." Ghira explained before feeling him and his wife being brought into a hug by Blake. "Thanks you guys!"
This truly was a memorable Christmas for the family.
