The sun which had begun to set in the horizon, shined its golden light through the windows of the hall as guests clinked their wine glasses together.

Their laughter and chatter drowned the anxious thoughts of Yang Jungwon - no, he was Park Jungwon now. His wedding was taking place right before him, but it felt like he was absent.

He was absent because he was marrying a stranger, someone who he didn't love, furthermore, someone who viewed him as a mere- maybe valuable- business bride.

Everything would've been perfect: the cake looked flabbergasting, the venue was just beautiful, the stunning quarter million ring on his finger made him feel like he travelled to heaven and back, but what out-shined everything was the boy who married him. He looked so effortlessly charming and chic, his aura was heavenly, his features dangerously handsome.

Despite that, when he happened to gaze at Jungwon, it was a look of hatred, disgust. And that's what made the wedding extremely difficult. The fact that he was forced by his parents to marry Jay Park so they could live lavishly had him broken. They signed the contract without a second thought. But even then, he thought maybe the person he was marrying would be better than his abusive household - but by the looks of it, nothing would change.

His mother jabbed him in the ribs when no one was looking.

''Fix that sour look on your face, your'e getting married!''

''I'm trying my best Mom.'' he replied softly.

''Well your best isn't best enough! Do you want to mess this up for everyone? After being such a disappointment already?''

''I didn't want to get married!! You literally signed me away to a stranger because his family is disgustingly wealthy. Is that fair?''

Mrs. Yang scoffed, ''This isn't about you, it never will be. You better do as the contract says so we can keep getting paid. The money will give your father and I more than we can ever ask for.''

Jungwon forced himself to stop crying. It hurt. It hurt so damn bad. Why did everyone see him as an asset? If he was so valuable, why couldn't they treat him that way.

''Hey!'' his mother scolded. ''Go interact with the guests, meet your in-laws , meet your husband- and be submissive if you know what's good for you.''

''Yes Ma'am.''

She smiled fakely, ''At least I'm nicer than your father. Be grateful.''

That was his mother: when she spoke, it concerned money. Jungwon was sure she'd eat and breathe money if she could. Hell, she might even be seeing everyone as dollar bills.

''I guess the only good thing about this is that I look nice..." he said kindly to himself before forcing himself to interact with the guests.

They were friendly, welcoming. It made him think that this was a real wedding for a moment, until...until he felt an intimidating presence behind him. He was too scared to look for he knew who it was. A hand settled on his arm gently.

''Oh my goodness, you look wonderful Jay!'' a guest gushed. She seemed to melt when he spoke. Jungwon however froze.

''Well aren't you going to admire your husband's beauty?'' She asked Jungwon. Her friends agreed.

His smile was painful but he saw his Mom across the hall threatening him with her eyes.

''Ah, it's okay.'' Jay told them, ''He's just shy. Newly wed stuff.'

With that, he wrapped his arm around Jungwon's waist.

'Kill me now.' Jungwon thought. 'I don't care how, but do it quickly.'

''Let's go cut the cake, shall we babe?''

'Ok, he's a good actor. Did I marry an actor? Of course he's acting. He doesn't actually like me.'

When they turned away from the mini group, they ran into Jay's parents. Mrs. Park, who Jungwon understood to be very kindhearted, hugged him tightly. She was genuinely happy to see her new son in-law.

''Are you doing well?''

''Yes Mrs.Park.'' Jungwon lied truthfully.

''I hope the wedding's going well. Jay hasn't been mean to you or anything like that right?''

''Mom! Don't ask him that, it's weird!'' her son said in embarrassment. ''We don't even know each other as yet.''

''Which is why you should be accommodating to Jungwon. If he misbehaves, you let me know ok  Jungwon?''

Jungwon smiled, "Oh, I sure will.''

''What's that supposed to mean Jungwon?'' Jay asked.

''Park Jongseong.'' His father warned, ''Be nice and go cut the cake with your husband.''

Jay cringed, ''Old people make things so awkward!''

''I'll have you know I'm not  too old to give you a beating.'' Mrs.Park told him. ''Now act like the gentleman you were raised to be.''

The newly weds walked to the cake together as the guests gathered around them.

''I...h..haven't cut a  cake like this before.'' Jungwon whispered nervously to Jay.

''Just relax before you embarrass yourself. I'll handle this, so follow me.''

Jay placed  his hand on top of Jugwon's as they held the knife and gently sliced through the cake. The crowd cheered in excitement as to how cute the couple were. It made Jungwon all nervous and shy. Even he had to admit that as harsh as Jay seemed,in the moment, the older boy just had something, something that made him want to melt. That was his husband.
