There were several cars parked outside the mansion of the Park Residence. Jungwon noticed the white Rolls Royce of his parents. The one they bought with the money given to him for his wedding alimony. Jay didn't know that. He only believed that they would be satisfied with the monthly cheques they'd receive as long as he and Jungwon remained married. Little did he know.
Jungwon's mood had already been dampened but he tried not to show it.
''Who else is gonna be there besides my parents?'' he asked his husband.
''I don't know, maybe my Uncle or something. Oh, and my cousins.''
''The ones who couldn't show up for the wedding?''
''Uhum.''
''GREAT. THANK YOU UNIVERSE, crap on me some more, why don't you?''
''Hey, hey, hey...'' Jay placed his hands on Jungwon's shoulders. ''What's wrong? You seem upset.''
''I don't get upset.'' Jungwon replied with a deep frown.
''You don't have to do this if you don't want to. It's not compulsory.''
Jungwon could already imagine his Parents- specifically his dad- dislocating his shoulder again. No, he wouldn't risk that, Jay would know.
''I'm fine, just nervous. That's all. I'm not upset about seeing my parents or anything like that. That would be silly.''
Jay examined him carefully. ''If...if something is wrong, you can tell me okay?''
''We haven't been married for a full twenty-four hours yet, why do you care?''
''You're right. I'm getting too soft. Let's go.''
''Okayy... maybe poor choice of words...'' Jungwon said hurriedly.
Jay was halfway up the stairs.
''Jay wait! Jay! Park Jongseong! Husband!''
Jay smiled to himself. That boy would get him in trouble.
***************
''Something smells delicious..'' Jungwon announced as he entered through the doors. They were greeted and welcomed by the staff who seemed to be pleased with Jay being married. Married to Jungwon.
They were directed to the dining hall by a maidservant Jay called Mrs.Chung. Jay was extremely laid back around her.
Jungwon ticked that off as another mystery of Jay.
When they pushed open the doors to the hall, they were greeted with a round of applause from their family. It made Jungwon want to evaporate on the spot, but he felt Jay hold his hand.
''Good morning to you two lovebirds.'' Mrs.Park addressed happily. Jay cringed at the thought of being lovebirds. With Jungwon? Absolutely not.
There were two empty seats reserved for the couple between Jay's parents and Jungwon's parents.
'Great.' Jungwon thought. 'I can already see how they're threatening me with their eyes.'
Jay squeezed his hand reassuringly. ''I'm right here. You can relax.''
Jungwon relaxed a bit. His parents wouldn't do anything irrational since they were surrounded by their benefactors. Hopefully.
There was another boy who had a slight resemblance to Jay and his father. When he asked Jay who it was, he was told the boy's name was Park Jong-Hyuk, Jay's first cousin.
