chapter eighty-nine

I heard a tap on my car window and looked up from my phone, turning the radio down. I rolled down my window, "What's up?"

Kimi shoved a coffee in my face, "Here."

"You just hit my fucking nose."

Kimi burst out laughing, "I'm so fucking sorry."

"That hurt," I chuckled.

"Oh, fuck off. Do you want it or not?"

I grabbed it from her hands, "I'm fucking for real."

Kimi crouched down to look at my face, "Your makeup looks good. I didn't smudge it or anything."

I looked at myself through my phone camera, "You're lucky because I would've lost my fucking mind."

"So, how's the new boyfriend?" Kimi joked.

I laughed, "Literally fuck off."

"Are you gonna fire whoever took the picture?" Kimi asked, opening my door for me as I gathered my things.

"Of course. I've just been holding off on finding out who it is until actually getting inside and preparing myself mentally for it."

"You don't know who did it yet?"

"Minho does. I don't."

"That's... Weird."

"There's a whole story behind this," I chuckled.

"Let's hear it."

I got out of the car with the coffee she'd given me in-hand, "The picture leaked at seven and I hadn't been on my phone at all. I had an in-person exam to take at nine so I was in the middle of getting ready. Looking back Minho was definitely distracting me because anytime I went to check my phone, he'd just remind me of the exam. As you already know Minho and I go everywhere with each other so he came with me to the exam. Exam lasted two hours and then we get lunch around eleven-to-noon. We decide to go on a walk after and I notice that everyone's giving us weird looks but I just figure it's because we're walking openly. Everything's fine until a bunch of paparazzis come up on us when we're about to get to the car and he finally tells me about what happened. I'm pissed as fuck at first but he explains his side so I calm down a bit. He didn't want me losing focus on the exam and didn't want to stress me out. I don't agree but it makes sense so I forgave him pretty easily. I mean, the picture's of him for fucks sake. I'm not actually cheating on him."

Kimi stopped me outside of the doors, "What would happen if one of you cheated?"

"I've never thought about it," I shrugged.

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah. Why would I?" I set my coffee down on the ground to open the first set of doors for her.

"And they say chivalry is dead," Kimi chuckled.

"Hey, why do you ask?"

"I feel like most people consider what would happen if their partner cheated on them."

"I feel like you're probably right but I don't know, I've just never considered it," I said, setting down my coffee once more and opening the second set of doors for her.

"How do you not consider something like that?"

"I don't know. I just haven't. What do you want me to say?"

"That's just a lot of faith."

"I have one-hundred percent faith that he'll always be loyal. I don't question it and would you like to know why that is?" I asked her as I picked my coffee back up and headed to security with her following behind me.
