I heard a knock on my office door, "What?"
I heard Veronica's voice, "The council texted you like, twenty times. Come out."
"I'm kind of busy," I lied.
That's a half-lie. I always have shit to do but I also do whatever I want all of the time so I could walk away if I wanted to.
I just don't want to.
"Well, we feel like blowing off steam and that's what the burnout room is for, so."
"Okay? And? Have an orgy if you want, I don't care."
"Can I come in?" Veronica asked.
"I don't like you right now."
"I know that."
"So, why are you still talking to me?"
"Because I'm figuratively held at gunpoint by Niyah right now. She has her fingers to my head."
I cackled, "That's funny."
"Come talk to us!" Niyah exclaimed.
I grabbed my phone off my desk and sighed as I got out of my seat, "Fine."
"Yay!" Niyah exclaimed excitedly.
I opened my door and when they backed up, I turned around to lock it behind me, "You got me. I wasn't doing anything important anyway."
"Now we all get to interrogate your TED Talk," Veronica said.
I stopped in the middle of walking, "I can turn right back around, you know."
Niyah grabbed me by the hand and practically began dragging me, "Come on."
"I feel like I have to remind you guys repeatedly that I'm your boss," I whined, trudging behind her.
"You didn't have to leave your office," Veronica said.
Seungmin passed us with a wave and I stopped him, "Hey, can I talk to you?"
"Yeah, what's up?" He asked.
"I'll follow you guys in a second," I said to Niyah and Veronica.
"Yeah, you better," Niyah said.
"This better not be an elaborate escape plan," Veronica said.
"It's not an 'escape plan,' mind your business," I said to them, shooing my hand away. "Go. Get. Out of my sight. Shoo."
Seungmin chuckled as they walked away, "They're so over-dramatic."
"Tell me about it," I scoffed softly. "Okay, I know I just told them to mind their business but I'm about to involve myself in yours. Veronica's crazy for thinking there's something happening between Hyunjin and Avalon, right?"
"She's nuts. I know she's whole-heartedly convinced that they're cheating together but they're literally not. They're not into each other at all. I wouldn't care if they fucked anyway but they wouldn't even want to. I told them to make out once when the three of us were drunk together and they were disgusted after doing it. You could argue that they were putting on a show but Hyunjin knows that I wouldn't give a shit if he liked it. If he enjoyed it, he could've acted like he did. He just didn't and neither did she. I've come home to them cuddling before and I know how touchy they are. They're just best friends and I'm glad he has that because I have that in Changbin. We haven't fought once since we started working here and we've embraced the label of 'best friends.' The only difference is that Changbin and I aren't touchy, honestly."
