Some days later, Isabella was busy sharpening her arrows when she heard someone approach her and she saw their boots come in her line of vision.
It was Michonne.
"Hey Isabella, can we talk?"
"Depends, am I in trouble again?" Isabella raised an eyebrow as she paused and looked at the woman.
"It wasn't like that."
"Then tell me what it was like," Isabella huffed in annoyance and got back to her arrows.
"Isabella, look, I'm... I'm sorry. About the way I've been treating you."
"Great, you're forgiven. You can leave now."
"I know you, you haven't forgiven me and I'm not leaving till you do or hear me out."
"Michonne, I know you're not one for words, it's okay. But you can't blame me for not wanting to talk."
"You're right, I'm not one for words, but times have changed. Besides, I have these," Michonne said before taking off the bag on her shoulder and held it out to her.
She eyed Michonne suspiciously before setting aside the arrow and grabbed the bag. It was heavy as shit. Isabella grunted under its weight before placing it at her feet and unzipped it, peering inside. In it, were explosive arrows- something Isabella hadn't had in months.
"How did- where did you find these?" Isabella asked in shock.
"The sanctuary had some stuff, so after making a run and getting lucky, I had Eugene help make them," Michonne said, letting a smile slip out. "Figured it'd help my apology."
"You think you can bribe my forgiveness with an incendiary device?" Isabella asked, before standing to her full height with a glare. "That it'll undo the past few months?"
"No. But I hope it'll be the start." Michonne said.
Isabella continued glaring at her, wanting to soak in her anger but she knew Michonne was right. She didn't know if their relationship could go back to what it was before, but they didn't have time for bitterness these days.
She took another moment before sighing. "Look, I can't forgive and forget yet, but I do understand why you did it. Like you said, we don't have time for arguments anymore. And honestly, I don't think I was mad at you for liking Rick. That part is none of my business, not anymore. It bothered me you let it get between us. But I want to move on."
"I understand, " Michonne nodded. "I'm sorry. And I hope I can get your forgiveness one day down the line."
"I just missed having my sister at my side," Isabella said, placing her hand on Michonne's upper arm.
"Adopted sisters." Michonne said and Isabella laughed.
"Right, adopted sisters."

A month passed from then and while there was still some awkward air between Isabella and Rick, they found it easier to be more genuine in their interactions.
And despite the fact that Isabella rejected Rick, he didn't let his heartbreak get in the way of making sure she was treated fairly.
He talked to her more, wanting to make sure she knew she was welcome in the community, and always went out of his way to check how she was doing.
Their small talk was still awkward, but she appreciated how he still put in some effort to talk to her, to include her; even if it hurt him.
It wasn't that Isabella didn't enjoy their conversations before, but now the weight had been lifted and she'd finally been honest with him, she found it easier to talk to him.
