Mental Mind Check ~ Prologue

Byleth was sitting on the bench looking around the people playing with one another. The children were wild, the townsfolk were happy and cheerful. Byleth looked up into the bright summer day.

"Nivo 1st... it's hot for an early fall day..." Byleth groaned as he cleaned himself off. Then he noticed Chrom and Claude were walking over to Byleth alongside their children.

Chrom laughed, "Hey there Byleth! It's good to see you!" Byleth looked over and saw Chrom and Claude holding hands with one another. "We decided to mail you today's mail."

Byleth questioned, "Mail... me today's mail?"

"There's an important date that is labeled on there..." Byleth opened the envelope and saw it was an invitation to Chrom and Claude's wedding.

Lucina laughed, "I'm going to be the flower girl! Fathers decided it was best for me to be the flower girl. I will 100% do my very BEST!"

"Hehe, she is truly a bright kid," Chrom laughed as he pat Lucina on the back. Byleth noticed that Lucina had shorter hair and her clothing was less girly.

Byleth sighed, "Your children matured pretty quickly... wow."

"Well, that's what a four year war does to someone. Heh, but don't worry about us, we're still getting our lives back on track," Chrom replied while laughing. The two smiled at one another and then they got ready to leave. "Hope to see you guys there!" Byleth stared at the invitation and then back down. Then Alear came dashing over.

Alear cheered, "WHOO! I'm so ready for their wedding!"

"Oh... I just got the invitation,"

"ME TOO! I just know they're going to be amazing! I'm certain you're excited too right!?" Alear asked while jumping. Byleth sat there staring at her. Then he turned away. "Byleth? Are you jealous?"

Byleth groaned, "Maybe a little? I think I'm being too petty. It's a really hot day and I just can't think of anything..."

"Why don't you take off that jacket of yours?! All your clothing is all dark colors which attract the sun! The reason why I'm not that hot is because I'm wearing white, which is a perfect reflector of sunlight!"

Byleth laughed, "Looks like someone knows their science facts. I know... I know. I just really don't know how to feel. Me and Claude forgave each other all those years ago back during the war but I don't know..."

"Look I get it, the whole entire fiasco that happened with Chrom a few months back made you conflicted, well one thing is certain. I just know we just need to press forward!" Byleth looked at Alear as she awaited for him to give her a hug. Byleth smiled and got up, then the two hugged. "HOLY CRAP!" She jumped a little and then laughed with Byleth. Then they noticed Shez was walking over and he was carrying a wagon alongside Kirby.

Byleth asked, "What are you two doing?"

"We're going to sell some lemonade, it was Kirby's idea by the way," Shez laughed. Byleth looked at Shez and laughed. Kirby was wearing a visor over his head and smiled at Byleth and Alear.

Kirby questioned, "Do you two want to be my first customers?" Byleth and Alear nodded as they walked over. They paid Kirby 25 cents and got the lemonade. It tasted wonderful, it was honestly a lot to take in for something so simple like lemonade.

"Jeez, what did you make this with!? This is absolutely amazing!" Byleth complemented.

Kirby laughed, "I followed a step by step guide to create lemonade, I also decided to add some extra stuff to make the flavor really come out!" Alear and Byleth were in awe and decided to buy themselves two more cups.
