"What have I done..." Byleth whispered. The heroes all stood there staring down as Byleth's eyes filled with tears. "I've done so many horrible things..." Shez looked at Byleth in sorrow as he hugged him tightly.

Shez muttered, "You haven't done anything wrong Byleth... were just under the influence of Zethus... he corrupted your body and made you do all those horrible things."

"I did so many horrible things either way! It was my body! I'm the one responsible for killing Mario! I'm the one responsible for ordering Marth to burn the town down! I'm the one responsible for doing that horrendous torturing to Chrom!" Byleth yelled as he turned away from everyone. He looked down at himself as tears filled his eyes again.

Celica whispered, "You didn't do anything... We all know that you didn't do anything. You were under the corruption of Zethus!"

"No matter how many times you say that... it will never repair the horrible things I've done..." Byleth muttered to himself. The heroes stood there staring at each other as Chrom and Alear gained back their consciousness.

Alear asked, "B-Byleth?" Byleth looked up at the two who were looking down at him. "You're... back to normal!" Byleth looked down at himself as he put his head into his knees. Chrom and Alear looked at each other in worry as they walked over to Byleth.

Chrom asked, "Shez, can we see Byleth?" Shez nodded as the rest of the heroes walked into the throne room. All of them were conflicted and confused. "Byleth... are you there?"

Byleth whispered, "I'm so sorry... I don't deserve to be a hero... not after what I've done..."

"Byleth..."

"I've done horrible things! I'm a horrible person and a horrible friend. You don't deserve someone like me! I'm just going to find a way to hurt you all!" Byleth yelled as he pushed Chrom away. The two stood there staring at each other and back at Byleth.

Alear sighed, "Byleth... you didn't do anything wrong. You don't seem to understand that... Do you?"

"I DO UNDERSTAND THAT! I DID EVERYTHING WRONG!!" Byleth shouted in tears. He looked down at his hands, he felt like he had so much blood on his hands. "I deserve to be locked up for dear life..."

Alear yelled, "BYLETH SNAP OUT OF IT! THIS ISN'T YOU IN THE SLIGHTEST! WHERE'S THAT DETERMINED PERSON I SAW! WHERE IS THE PERSON I KNEW DURING THE WAR?!"

"I-"

Chrom agreed, "Alear makes a point. Byleth, you've been my best friend for the longest time. I don't want to ever see you like this. You're downgrading yourself just because of the constant fear you're living in. Fear of hurting others, that's what you've been afraid of the entire time?! Hurting others?!" Byleth looked at Chrom who was staring down at him in anger

Byleth sighed, "Chrom... you know I was once a mercenary... hurting others to live. Now... I have nothing... I'm just as lonely as ever before. Hurting others, never going to discover myself ever again."

"Byleth, are you kidding me? You're going to discover yourself! You've just... been scared of hurting others, I know how you feel..." Chrom yelled. Byleth looked at Chrom as he looked down at himself. "I knew during those events with Zehira I couldn't forgive myself either, I didn't know what to do. I was trapped under his command. But, I saw the heroes... and knew they would forgive me.

They did... They all were willing to forgive me because they all knew I was under his corruption. I didn't forgive myself but overtime, I did learn to forgive myself. I learned that... whatever happened, wasn't my fault. You need to know that too, Byleth." Byleth looked at Chrom and slowly stood up.
