Solar and Lunar Braces ~ Chapter 33

The group of three kept walking down the road until they were immediately stopped by none other than Ephraim. However, joining him appeared to be his twin sister; Eirika.

Alear asked, "Did Marth order you to come after us to prevent us from going further?"

"Nope, our new boss did!"

"Who the hell is that new boss of yours!?" Chrom asked as he slowly took out his weapon. Ephraim smiled at him but didn't say a word. "Answer the question..."

Ephraim mocked, "There's no reason for me to respond to a question like that! That's just so insensitive of you to remotely think about asking me this question."

"We were just curious..." Alear muttered.

Eirika sighed, "Well that doesn't matter now, we're here for one purpose and one purpose only. That being finding out a way to destroy you once and for all."

"That's crazy! You won't get to us!" Shez shouted as he grabbed his blades out. The twins took out their weapons as the other two took out their weapons. Then the groups started fighting each other. Chrom and Ephraim clashed blades with one another, trying to push against each other.

"AHAHAAH! Go ahead and keep trying! We will continue to keep stopping you in your tracks!" Ephraim mocked. Chrom kept pushing against his sword and soon was able to overwhelm him. Ephraim fell onto the ground and looked up to Chrom.

Alear shouted, "HAH!" She attempted to attack Ephraim but Eirika swept in and hit Alear. She dropped her sword and fell backward as well. Shez dashed in as both of the twins fought back against him. That gave Chrom a chance to strike, he dashed ahead and hit both of them.

"AH!" Eirika shouted as she fell to the ground. Ephraim turned over and saw Chrom ready to dash at them. Soon he did as Ephraim clashed his lance against Chrom's falchion. They kept fighting back and forth until this time, Ephraim overwhelmed Chrom.

Chrom grunted, "DAMN!" He dropped his sword onto the ground as Ephraim dashed in to kick him onto the ground. Soon Eirika dashed in to grab his sword as Shez swept through and attacked her. She dropped the sword but in the process it nearly hit Chrom. "Watch it Shez!"

"I was just trying to be swift! That's all I was trying to do!" Shez replied while looking down at Chrom. Soon he noticed Eirika dashed at him and slammed her sword onto him. It hit him and in the process he fell onto the ground. Alear was the only one left and she slowly got up holding onto her sword.

Ephraim sighed, "Are you really going to continue fighting after being so weakened?"

"I am not afraid of fighting unlike some of you..." Alear muttered under her breath. Ephraim smiled as he dashed at her. Leaping into the air and attempting to slam his blade onto her sword. However, Alear was able to fight back against him. Eirika dashed in to help quickly assist her brother. Meanwhile, Chrom and Shez were finally getting up again.

Chrom grunted, "We can't leave Alear to defend herself! Come on!" Then the two dashed back into the fighting. Alear kept blocking their attacks but soon it ended up becoming too much. Eventually Chrom and Shez leaped into the air and together they slammed their swords against Eirika and Ephraim.

Ephraim grunted, "Eirika! We can't hold them off! No matter how hard we try they're always far stronger than we are!" Eirika nodded in agreement as they soon ran away from the scene.

"THAT'S RIGHT! GO AWAY!!" Alear ordered. She took a deep breath and then looked back at her allies who appeared to be a little dirty but overall they were unharmed. "How are we all doing?"

Shez explained, "Eh, we had way worse than this."

"I agree, there has been much... much worse. Anyways, is Byleth still in Elusia?" Chrom replied while laughing. Shez checked on his communicator and noticed that Byleth was still in Elusia.

Shez sighed, "Seems like it, we better hurry before he trots on off again."

"Is it possible for him to be captured?"

"Nah, I don't think he's that stupid to be captured in the first place, that's just me; however," Shez explained. Alear nodded as they got themselves ready to walk down the path.

Chrom sighed, "Whatever Byleth is doing, I'm afraid that there is something wrong with him, why would he go out of his way to do his own thing but to never alert us of him leaving? It also doesn't make sense for him to keep his communicator working if it was a secret."

"Yeah I agree fully with you, something about this entire situation doesn't align. Byleth would tell the team where he was going if he was going somewhere. However, him having the communicator still sounds like he wants us to find him to learn something," Alear replied while explaining her thoughts.

Shez groaned, "Whatever Byleth thought of, it's a very strange pattern for him to do. Let's just find him and get back home as soon as possible. The villains are driving me more and more insane!" The other two laughed as they continued walking down the path.

Chrom thought, "Byleth... what exactly are you... planning?"
