Blood of The Demon ~ Chapter 88

Demon laughed, "I only did it to make sure we would all be safe and that there won't be any trouble regarding that horrendous monster."

"But you killed Robin! You wanted to make up to him!" Alear shouted. Chrom smiled at her and turned around.

"I couldn't do anything, Robin was long gone. I never missed him, not once. I've been planning his murder for the past nine years and now... NOW I GET TO FINALLY FULFILL THAT DREAM!!!" Demon giggled. He looked at the heroes with a look of insanity as the heroes started backing away from him.

Alcryst muttered, "Chrom... this is so unlike you..."

"Pathetic, this is Chrom in his purest form! I wanted to make sure that... Grima's new vessel is dead," Demon laughed. The heroes got prepared to attack him while the Demon stood there staring at the heroes. "Are you... backing away from me?!"

Marianne muttered, "Chrom... you are not yourself, you're so much better than this!" Demon stared at them as his tentacles rose into the air. He felt himself wanting to harm the heroes. He wanted to hurt them with his tentacles.

"We... We triggered something in him!"

"I... I wanted to kill you all for so long as well... ever since we first met I've been dying to kill you heroes..." Demon giggled. The heroes stared at them and then took a deep breath. Demon then shot a tentacle at Shez. He barely dodged it and suddenly Demon was sending his tentacles at the heroes.

"WE CAN FIX THIS CHROM!!"

"NOT UNLESS YOU ARE DEAD!!!" Demon shouted as he threw his tentacle at Alear. One of her arms got caught by one and she tried to break free but was unable to. Soon Kirby jumped in and then slammed his sword on the tentacle. It cut it and Demon's eyes widened in shock.

He fell back and put his hand near his chest. He felt agonizing pain in his chest and looked at the heroes in rage. He took a deep breath and fought through the sharp pain deep within him.

Shez muttered, "It seems like he gets injured if cut his tentacles but if we cut too many of them he could potentially die." Demon then shot another tentacle at Shez. Shez dodged and cut two of the tentacles.

"NO! STOP!" Demon screamed. He looked at the heroes in worry as he felt himself holding his chest. Blood was coming out of his mouth as he stared down at himself. "Why... Why won't you... let me... BEAT YOU!!"

Alcryst muttered, "W-We have no choice! You're hurting us and we need to hurt you!" Demon looked up as Alear cut another tentacle. Demon fell onto the ground in pain and blood was coming out of his mouth, far more than before.

"That's enough!" Marianne shouted. Demon looked over but he couldn't control the bleeding. Eventually it got so bad he transformed back to normal. Marianne dashed over and went to heal him carefully.

Shez muttered, "Jeez... we almost killed him."

"We had no choice... he wasn't going to listen to reason no matter how hard we tried," Veyle sighed. Shez nodded as the heroes stood there watching as Marianne healed Chrom.

Alear muttered, "Byleth is doing something more than attempting to ruin lies, I really am wondering what the hell is truly going on..."

"If only one of us could see through his mind and see if we can understand him, but at best... Chrom can only predict the future," Shez replied.

Alcryst asked, "Didn't you heroes get blessed with powers?"

"We did during the war, but none of us got the power to see into someone's thoughts, I think they thought that was too powerful," Alear explained. He nodded as Gooey came rolling by. Kirby dashed over and gave him a hug.

Elfilin came flying by and announced, "Sorry I haven't been active! I've been busy trying to get reports with Weather Bot about the circumstances..." The heroes nodded as they heard wings flapping in the air. There were two wyverns, one was purple and the other was brown.

Alcryst asked, "W-Wait are those two wyverns backup?"

"No... in fact that's Claude and Ivy!" Shez yelled. The heroes looked over and their wyverns landed. The two got off and took a deep breath.

Claude sighed, "We both have reports about the circumstances, but I think you all want to hear Ivy's..." The heroes looked over and nodded. Suddenly Claude turned his eyes toward Chrom who looked terribly injured. "W-What happened to Chrom!?"

Alear explained, "He attempted to kill us with his demon form so we cut off his tentacles in order to stop him..."

"You didn't cut all of them right?!"

"No... only four of them..."

Claude yelled, "You would've killed him if you cut one more tentacle! You don't realize how dangerous this process can be!"

"W-We didn't know that!" Alear yelled in worry. Claude dashed over to Chrom and hugged him tightly. "We're so sorry! We had no idea this was going to happen!"

Claude muttered, "I... I..."

Marianne suggested, "Let's go back to the mansion together Claude. I'll heal Chrom on the way there." Claude nodded as the two walked off together. The heroes stood there in disbelief wondering what they had just done.

Ivy asked, "You... You heroes nearly killed the Exalt?"

"We had no choice! He was attempting to kill us and we couldn't think of any other solution! We want to apologize to Claude but I don't think he's in the mood to listen to us," Veyle explained.

Ivy sighed, "Well... apologize to him soon. Right now I have something important to tell you about what's going on..."

"Alright, we're more than willing to listen," Alear sighed.
