The sounds of Marth's footsteps could be heard on the grassy fields. He kept on running, too afraid to even stop for a moment to pause. However, he found a place to hide and hid there to gain back his energy. It was a small cave and he turned on a fireplace. He sat there staring at the scrolls and took them out.
"So much valuable information is in these scrolls; however, the heroes are going to have to hide these away... but it wouldn't hurt to see one..." Marth muttered. He opened a scroll up and started reading it. There was information about the demigod Zethus, how he raged across the lands. Marth felt himself getting uneasy, he had experienced Zehira just like Chrom. It tormented him and thinking about him or Zethus made him sick...
The story of Zethus went as follows, that he was once a shadow dragon which used its strength to drain the good energy from people. In the process he was able to transform into a human being, he was crowned king of insanity by the people he drained from. They were known as the shadow worshippers. However, Dawn and her saints found out what Zethus was doing and put an end to him.
They locked him away in the Netherworld alongside Zehira, his father. The two transformed back into their dragon forms and were kept on high alert. However, one day Zethus found a way to corrupt the guards to do his bidding. Apparently, the Netherworld used to be a dimension where every type of being was banished to.
Lord Midnight had controlled the world but he was respected there as one of the founders and the guardians. However, the more time Midnight spent in the Netherworld, the more he wanted to shift it. He changed it to be a place where the banished beings could roam free. However, due to his insanity he decided to allow danger everywhere you went.
He and Zehira were on good terms, but once Midnight had heard of what Zethus was doing, he knew Zethus needed to be stopped as soon as possible. Midnight had sealed away Zethus into an inter dimension. Zehira became more and more enraged with Midnight. Soon he sent Zehira away as well, leaving only a staff, and an unknown item.
Marth asked, "What... the..."
"MARTHH!!!" Someone shouted. Marth put out the flame and hid behind a rock. He looked out and saw the familiar footsteps of Byleth. Marth grabbed the bag of scrolls and hid behind the rock. He was becoming more and more afraid of getting spotted.
Marth thought, "If I reveal myself... Then..." Then he heard the sounds of a sword being swung around.
"AAHHAAH! YOU ARE HERE AND I KNOW IT!!" Byleth laughed. Marth took a deep breath and got himself ready to teleport. He practiced spells for ages and he was skilled enough to know how to teleport.
Marth yelled, "TELEPORT TOUR!" Then he teleported away along with the books.
"HAH! TWO CAN PLAY THAT GAME MARTH!" Then he teleported the whole group away. Marth landed on the grounds of Hero Town. From there he looked up and saw the horror, there were flames in some parts of the town.
Marth asked, "What... What happened to the town..."
"That's what we were wondering..." Someone said, it was none other than Shez alongside Alcryst and Kirby. Marth turned around and took out his sword. The heroes took out their weapons in the process. "We don't want to cause harm!"
Marth said, "I'm the villain! You want to hurt me for all I have done!"
"We don't know what caused this and in the process we lost hold of Sonic and Marianne! I don't care about what you have done, we need help," Shez yelled as he put his swords away.
Marth muttered, "I have the scrolls." He put them down as the heroes gasped at the sight of them. "I ran away as far as possible from them but now they're hunting me down. I... I.." He looked down at himself and nearly collapsed. Kirby quickly grabbed the scrolls and took them away.
Alcryst whispered, "Stay with us, we'll deal with the villains once they come over."
"They're too dangerous! I wouldn't risk it!"
"And we're the heroes?!" Marth looked at them and slowly took a deep breath. "They haven't gotten to Almyra or Lythos yet, but once they do I'm going to be afraid..."
"AHAHAH!" Someone laughed. The heroes took out their weapons as Marth started to back away.
Kirby whispered, "Go hide! NOW!" Marth nodded as he went to hide inside a house. Then Byleth teleported in front of them. The heroes became infuriated and took out their weapons.
"Long time no see! I was hoping we could duel again, but where's the other heroes?"
"You did something to them..."
"Aww I did!? How very unfortunate! I really sure hope you can get them back somehow..." Byleth giggled. The heroes stood there staring at him as they raised their weapons. "You want to hurt me!? Oh! OH!!! I SEE HOW IT IS!" Byleth then took out the sword of the creator and smiled at them.
Kirby whispered, "I don't know what got into you Byleth but whatever ended up happening, I pray we can find a way to break you out of this spell..."
"Is it even a spell or was he hiding this all away from us?"
"HE HAS TO!" The heroes looked at Kirby as Byleth smiled at him.
Byleth laughed, "Oh! I want you to repeat what you said Kirby! Go on! Repeat what you said..." Kirby walked backward in fear as Byleth's eyes filled with swirls "Go on..."
"DON'T FORCE HIM!" Shez shouted. Byleth turned toward Shez and smiled at him. "I don't know what is going wrong with you but... please come back as the real you."
Byleth laughed, "THAT BYLETH HAS BEEN LONG DEAD!! YOU AND I NEED TO BE HERE WITH ME!! AHAHAH!"
"Ugh... I hate dealing with this version of you but if this is to save you... THEN I WILL!" The heroes nodded as they got ready as Byleth and his crew got prepared as well.
