There was only silence, the muffled sounds of the ancient World Tree water dripped. Byleth held his sword in his hands and looked up. The other villains watched in confusion as Byleth grabbed the water and felt it on his gloves. Of course, they got wet but he could feel the soothing feeling of the water.
"This water is precious to the world, we mustn't do anything to it," Byleth said as he allowed the water to drip back into the river flowing through the world tree. "That water is so powerful it can heal your wounds if you were to drink it."
Rafal asked, "Heal your wounds? What an interesting tree."
"This tree is the source of life for all of the people in Dawn, if it were to ever fall apart or die... all life on Dawn would disappear," Byleth explained.
Ephraim sighed, "What a gorgeous tree, it has such a wonderful color scheme... the blue, white, purple, pink... what a stunning tree."
"It's so unique due to the fact it's a tree of life, it wants to protect everyone... I mean, look at the stunning blue branches..." Byleth sighed. The villains looked at the tree as something came out.
Rafal asked, "What... is that?" A scroll fell down from the tree as Byleth grabbed the scroll. "Is that a scroll?"
"It's a scroll about the tree... but why did it choose me?" Byleth asked. He opened the scroll slowly and looked at the contents of the scroll. It left him confused, the tree was more than just the life of Dawn. It was the heart of Dawn.
After the ending of the Dawn's Destiny war, the tree sprouted and grew into life. During Astoria it would drop petals onto the ground. Wishing life on the people, wishing good fortune to those in need. In the process the water became magical, providing support to those who drank from the water as the river poured.
The river was only available from Phila to Dvina, and then the river would disappear. All you pray is that it would drop sparkling dust on you to provide support. The World Tree is very sacred to the people of Dawn. Every now and then people would sit by it and pray with the tree for good fortune. However, even the tree had feelings.
Sparkles of joy would come out if the tree was happy, water droplets would fall if the tree was saddened. Many things would happen to the tree depending on the emotion; however, nobody has seen the others except for the happiness and sadness. It also coexists alongside the heart of Dawn.
When the system reboot almost happened, the tree was dying slowly. It was on an island, as the tree slowly dropped its petals onto the ground. Normally the trees would only drop its petals onto the ground in case someone needed it. However, the tree was slowly dying as this happened. Luckily it stopped and the tree remained thriving.
Byleth muttered, "This tree..." He looked up at the tree, its bright glow shimmered through the dark night. "This tree is magnificent. It has so much life stored into it, truly if it were to be destroyed... everything else would."
Rafal sighed, "One of the few things in the world that we can enjoy. This tree is just so stunning..." Byleth nodded as the others looked up at the tree. "Perhaps the tree can grant us the strength to gain access back to the scrolls and get the other scrolls from the remaining kingdoms."
Byleth muttered, "You make a point..." He went down and scooped up some of the water and gently started drinking it. In the process the river became a bright baby blue color. Glowing brightly in the night. "Is... Is it working?!"
Ephriam asked, "What happens if the river turns that bright blue color?"
"Based on my knowledge... it is supposed to strengthen your knowledge, strengthen your ideals and help you achieve your ultimate goals..." Byleth explained. He looked down and took a deep breath. "It should be working then..."
Rafal sighed, "This river is so unique, it has so much in store. I guess that's the beauties of Dawn."
"So many things in Dawn are beautiful. I can't believe I'm saying this but... I am grateful to be living here," Byleth muttered. The villains nodded as they all sat down on the ground. The soothing aura of the tree gave them comfort, reminding them that they will succeed. The tree didn't care who came, it protected all types of life.
Eirika laughed, "What a beautiful sight to behold! It's such a beautiful tree it gives me so much comfort..." The villains nodded in agreement as they watched the night sky. Stars were shimmering brightly, they actually felt at peace. Even though they wanted the scrolls and to destroy the heroes, it was... beautiful.
"Damn it World Tree, you truly are a blessing to the entire world," Rafal groaned. The villains laughed as they looked up into the sky.
Byleth sighed, "Rafal?"
"Yeah?"
"I just... wanted to thank you,"
"Thank me?" Byleth looked down at himself and then slowly nodded. They stood there staring at each other for a little while and then Rafal looked down at himself. "You're the only one who truly understands me. So... thank you."
Rafal sighed, "I guess it's no problem. I just do what I do best, I'm not really good at this... thing."
"Don't you worry about it, let's just forget about this and enjoy the night sky," Byleth replied. He smiled and then looked up into the night sky. Rafal hesitated a little but then he looked up at the night sky. The group felt... happy for once.
