Heroes Down, Torment Rising ~ Chapter 63

"Sonic, how are the heroes doing?" Marianne questioned. Sonic looked at his communicators and noticed that Albedo's, Hajime's, and Agent 4's communicators turned gray.

Sonic whispered, "This is getting worse and worse by the day. Most of the communicators are gray, yet Chrom is still unharmed based on the communicator."

"Oh no... this isn't good at all, Firene is on fire, the scrolls of Ylisse are being stolen... this isn't working in our favor..." Marianne replied.

Sonic sighed, "I agree, there is only so much we can do in order to protect ourselves but I'm afraid once he gets the scrolls he's going after the crown..."

"We need to protect our people Sonic! What is the news?" Marianne shouted. Sonic checked his phone and that's when the Weather Bot came rolling over. "What is it now?"

Weather Bot explained, "We have help on the way from Inkopolis! It seems like Deep Cut is coming to help. In order news, the fire in Firene is dying down but it has torn many of the lands."

"Okay... luckily help is on the way to Firene, what about the other countries," Sonic questioned. Weather Bot spun around for a bit and then came up with a list.

Weather Bot replied, "The protectors of the Liyue scrolls have vanished, the protectors of the Firene scrolls are still there dealing with the situation. The protectors of the Ylisse scroll have been taken down except the Exalt, the protectors of the Almyra scrolls are still in their places.

Finally, the protectors of the Lythos scrolls are still in their places. We are unsure what is going to happen in the long term. I do hope this was an assistance to you both!" The two looked at one another and nodded.

Sonic sighed, "Thankfully those in Almyra and Lythos are prepared for their attack. We need to stay here in case anyone returns or if they come and attack the town."

"Do we have anything valuable to them?" Marianne questioned. Sonic thought for a moment but eventually he shook his head. "I miss Mario... he would've been able to direct us easier."

Sonic sighed, "Ever since Byleth revealed his true intentions I haven't been the same. I've been so tied up with figuring out the reasoning as to why Byleth targeted Mario. Finding out why he had to be killed..."

"Yeah, I agree and see what you mean," Marianne sighed. Suddenly they heard something in the distance. Purple aura, they believed it was Byleth and got prepared. "What do you want from us Byleth? You betrayed us all, we're not welcoming you back so easily."

"Oh, I'm not Byleth, just someone assisting in his help..." The person laughed. The two looked at each other and panicked. Suddenly within a blink of an eye, someone dashed by. It was Tails alongside Gooey.

Tails shouted, "We're to assist you guys!" Gooey waved his tongue as the two nodded. Still they were unfamiliar with the purple aura. They had no idea who it was to begin with.

"I'm just following Byleth's orders, I don't understand why you're so worried..." The person giggled. The heroes looked at one another and started getting more and more afraid. They wore a hood but yet they looked experienced.

Sonic muttered, "I feel like... I recognize you..."

"Oh so you recognize me? I'm glad you actually remember me given how much time has passed," The person giggled. "I heard word that the library here in Hero Town has some... unique information."

Marianne muttered, "If you came here searching for scrolls, you're in the wrong place."

"I didn't even come here for scrolls, rather a history book that would be useful to our entire group. A book regarding despair," The person replied.

Sonic yelled, "By that logic there's no way in HELL we're going to give you that book!" The person stood there and took out a spellbook. Taking off their hood, it was... Robin? "So I do know you..."

Robin laughed, "Charming I know. I was hoping we could have a reunion with one another, being ready to throw spells and weapons at one another." Sonic slowly got himself steady ready to fight at any given moment.

"You... you're there during the system reboot, planning to destroy the world alongside Marth and Ephraim. Yet you ran away in fear," Tails explained. Robin looked over and scoffed. He got ready to shoot a spell at the heroes.

Marianne yelled, "You're not getting anywhere near the library. We will make sure you don't go near them!"

"Aww you're trying to be strong aren't you Marianne? Listen, I know how hard it is for you to be strong but be real with me, you'll never be to my level..." Robin laughed. He smiled at the heroes and got ready to shoot a spell. Marianne got ready to counterattack.

Sonic ordered, "WHATEVER ENDS UP HAPPENING, DON'T LET HIM NEAR THE LIBRARY!!" The group nodded as they got prepared to fight. Robin smiled at them and then shot the spell at them. Marianne shot the spell back at him and the two canceled out each other.

Robin sighed, "Tough crowd, no matter. I will do all I can to DESTROY YOU!!" The group got prepared to fight once they realized how pissed he was.
