Time Stasis Fight ~ Chapter 83

Byleth attempted to throw Chrom into the air but somehow Chrom managed to break free from his grip. He fell backward as Byleth jumped on the top of a building. He smiled down at Chrom as Chrom looked up at him in rage.

"We could stay in this stasis forever! You and I have the full watch's power... we can do whatever we desire..." Byleth giggled. Chrom then found a way onto the building Byleth was on top of. Then the two clashed their blades together.

Chrom grunted, "YOU WILL NEVER SET THE TOWN ON FIRE!!" Chrom swung his sword and looked at Byleth in anger. Byleth smiled at him and started whipping his sword, soon it was spiraling in a circle.

"YOU WANT TO TRY AGAIN?!" Byleth mocked. Chrom jumped back as Byleth attempted to slam his sword on the ground. It did leave a mark in the process, Byleth looked over toward Chrom who was on the ground trying to recover from the attack.

Chrom sighed, "Always the same tactics all the time. You don't know how to get anymore original, do you?" Byleth smiled at him as he launched himself into the air. He swung his sword at Chrom which got him tied up. He fell down and Byleth kicked him directly across the face. Chrom was launched backward and he was terribly injured. Surprisingly, no broken bones were spotted.

Byleth asked, "Why aren't your BONES BROKEN!?" He got ready to whip Chrom when Chrom took out a spellbook and casted a spell on Byleth. He fell backward and looked at Chrom in anger. Chrom slowly got up and dusted himself off.

"That was nothing..." Chrom groaned.

Byleth laughed, "But you're injured so truth to be told, that was something..." Chrom looked at him and slowly got up again. He looked at Byleth in anger and then dashed at him. Byleth blocked the attack immediately as Chrom jumped backward to stop himself from getting any more aggressive.

Chrom looked down at falchion and then back at the watch. Suddenly there was a time limit for how much they could stay in this stasis. Chrom knew he would need to find a way to freeze Byleth, but Byleth was too intelligent for Chrom.

Byleth dashed at Chrom and swung his sword at him. Chrom attempted to jump out of the way but he was whipped from behind and fell onto the ground. "Aww, trying so hard for what reason... you're always constantly failing."

Chrom looked up at Byleth and then back down at himself. "You also don't know when to quit. So if I'm failing, you are failing too." Byleth stared at him in confusion and that's when Chrom found a perfect way to strike him. He threw a dagger at him and Byleth was hit directly in the neck. "Surprised it actually worked..."

Byleth shouted, "YOU DEMON!!! YOU WILL PAY FOR THAT!" Byleth launched himself into the air and whipped Chrom as he landed on the building. Chrom was hit hard across the face and fell onto the ground. Blood was starting to cover his face and some of his clothing but he was too afraid to give up. Byleth was also slightly covered in blood but that was it.

Chrom and Byleth stared at one another in rage. Byleth attempted to whip Chrom one more time but Time unfroze and suddenly he was bombarded with attacks. Chrom took a deep breath and slowly stood up again.

"Chrom! Are you okay!?" Alear asked as she dashed over to Chrom. She noticed how Chrom suddenly became really injured. Chrom nodded as he looked over toward Byleth. Byleth was also really injured as well but not as badly as Chrom.

Rafal groaned, "You really need to watch it out there..." Byleth nodded as he got his sword ready again. Marianne took care of Chrom while the others jumped into action. Byleth then swung his sword at the heroes. The heroes jumped out of the way and soon they noticed gasoline was still on the ground. But... the matches were missing.

Veyle whispered while questioning, "Did... did they set the town on fire?!"

"I don't think so... otherwise the entire town would've been in flames already," Alear whispered back. The group stared over as Byleth and Rafal both realized their matches were missing. They looked over and saw within Chrom's hands he had the matches.

Byleth shouted, "WHAT THE-"

"I took them before you reacted when we were together while time was frozen..." Chrom replied while having a slight smirk on his face. Byleth looked at the heroes as they all got ready to attack them. Byleth and Rafal looked at one another and nodded.

Byleth ordered, "EIRIKA! EPHRAIM! DEAL WITH THE HEROES!! IF YOU LOSE YOU WILL BE PUNISHED!!" The two nodded as they jumped ahead. Meanwhile, Byleth and Rafal dashed away from the scene. Shez attempted to chase them but Kirby didn't let him.

Ephraim sighed, "So you heroes want to try being the greatest, huh? You will never stop what we are going to do..."

"We will stop Byleth from getting his hands on that crown, that crown is far too dangerous for him..." Alcryst replied as he raised his bow and arrow. Eirika and Ephraim smiled at one another as they got prepared to fight. But all of a sudden a blast went through. It knocked all the heroes back and they looked up in agony.

"Can't believe you guys need to be babysat, don't you realize how easy the heroes are able to be beaten?" The person asked. The group looked over and saw it was none other than Robin. He smiled at the heroes while Chrom looked at him in disbelief.

Chrom asked, "R-Robin... you actually are alive after all this time!?"

"Why wouldn't I? I wouldn't miss the fun if my life depended on it..." Robin laughed. Chrom looked down at himself and remembered everything about Robin. There was too much he wanted to forget and remember. But... Robin's original self was no more.

Chrom muttered, "But... I don't understand... why?"
