Crowned Despair King of Firene ~ Chapter 64

"Firene..." Shez whispered as he looked around the area. It was up in flames, they watched to see if they could find any royalty anywhere.

Kazuha sighed, "We need to act fast, otherwise Firene will get way worse than it is right now. We need to be very careful."

"I know, let's get going," Shez replied. They continued walking down the road as they searched the area. They felt the heat getting up to them, it was leaving them more and more disturbed.

Alcryst muttered, "Firene and Brodia are on good terms, I don't understand why Diamant hasn't helped Alfred..."

"That's what I'm wondering too, it's just... confusing to me why they left the entire place in flames," Shez sighed. They looked around the area until they noticed how strange the aura was.

Kazuha muttered, "There's something off about the aura, do you guys feel it?"

"Yeah! I feel it within me and it's leaving me incredibly unsettled. It's super strange..." Kirby muttered. The rest nodded as they walked down the road to see if they could find the royals anywhere.

Kazuha muttered, "I'm just praying they're actually safe and didn't fee their country."

"Alfred and Celine are not the type of people to leave their country in a disaster. I know they aren't... they have to be here somewhere," Alcryst replied. He searched the area but found only burnt flowers. "This ash is horrible for the air."

Kirby sighed, "Such a gorgeous place up in flames? This is too much for me to handle, it just makes me sad about what happened to Firene..." The heroes nodded. Shez touched the burnt flowers and they crumbled down to dust.

Shez sighed, "These poor flowers, this didn't need to happen to them. I'm so disheartened by the scenery of this place." The heroes nodded in agreement as they continued to search for the royals.

"Where are they?"

"Surely they have to be in the castle walls right?" Shez questioned as he started to get nervous. Alcryst took a deep breath and walked closer to the castle walls.

Kazuha mumbled, "It doesn't seem like anyone is even living there..."

"There has to be people in here, why else would the flames be dying out slowly?" Right as Alcryst was about to knock, a lance was pointed at his face. "AH!"

The soldier ordered, "Not anywhere closer!"

"Hey! We just wanted to talk to the Crowned King of Firene!" Kirby yelled. The soldier put their lance down and didn't respond. "HEY! REPLY TO ME YOU IDIOT!!"

Kazuha grabbed Kirby and said, "Don't anger the guard, they're just following orders." Kazuha looked at the guard and then back at the castle. It felt ominous, it didn't give a very welcoming vibe as before.

"I just wanted to check in with King Alfred. I am Prince Alcryst of Brodia. I just wanted to check how everything was going," Alcryst replied. The guard didn't say anything. The group stood there quietly.

Suddenly a voice from above asked, "You wanted to talk?" Alcryst moved backward as the heroes looked up, from above they spotted Alfred watching them from above.

"A-Alfred!" Shez yelled. Soon Alerius and Celine came walking over, fear struck the heroes. They were induced with despair. No wonder why the fires weren't stopped very quickly.

Alcryst asked, "A-Are you two okay!?"

"We're perfectly fine, now I'm going to ask you to leave this place immediately, I do not want to deal with you at this hour," Alfred replied.

Kazuha yelled, "We only came here to help you guys! Why are you going as far as denying our help?"

Celine responded, "We are able to protect Firene from these fires just fine! To be honest we believe the crops need it." The heroes' eyes widened in disbelief. They were afraid of what Byleth had done to them. Afraid that he has the exact same thing to everyone else.

Kirby yelled, "THIS ISN'T KEEPING THE CROPS HEALTHY! YOU ARE THE KINGDOM OF FLOWERS AND YOU'RE LETTING YOUR ENTIRE KINGDOM BE IN FLAMES?! THIS ISN'T WHO YOU ARE IN THE SLIGHTEST!"

"SILENCE! I WANT NONE OF IT!" Alfred shouted. The heroes looked at one another. Then the group jumped down from the balcony. "Clearly none of you heroes know what the hell no means, I'M ORDERING YOU TO LEAVE AT ONCE!"

Shez argued, "I AM NOT MOVING FROM WHERE I AM! I AM STAYING PUT WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT!!" Alfred clenched his fist as he took out his weapon. Soon the other two took out their weapons.

Alfred laughed, "Oh so you want to fight in order to make sure you guys leave? I'll do just that then, you will leave after I DESTROY YOU!"

"You've gotten so aggressive after Despair induced you whole, this is disgusting,"

"I'LL SHOW YOU DISGUSTING! ONCE YOUR BLOOD IS ALL OVER MY LANDS I WILL BE JOYOUS AT ONCE! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE HERE!!" The heroes took out their weapons and got prepared to fight them.
