There They Were, More Memories ~ Chapter 128

"MARIO?!" The heroes shouted. The heroes all stood there staring at Mario. He seemed to have all the marks he had when Byleth killed him. Once more, just a walking corpse, just like Marth.

Celica asked, "What has Zethus done to you now?! First it was Marth but now he has the audacity to use your body!?" Mario didn't say anything, he just got his fists ready as the heroes got themselves prepared.

Shez muttered, "I wonder what his ability is, since their abilities relate to the way they died... I'm assuming his punches are going to feel like being stabbed..."

"Yeah that's a good hypothesis to make, we just... need to be careful," Celica muttered. The heroes got their weapons ready as Mario dashed at them. Mario punched the ground and the heroes felt themselves being lifted up into the air. Alcryst took advantage of the situation and shot an arrow at Mario.

Alcryst muttered, "I really hate to be fighting the Team Leader but do we even have a choice?"

"They revived him without any warning, just as they did with Marth... as long as we defeat him then we can get on with finding where Zethus and Zehira were," Shez replied. The heroes nodded as Mario dashed at them. He jumped into the air and punched Celica.

Celica yelled, "GAH!!" She fell against a wall and felt her cheek bruising up. "That was such an intense punch! Oh my..." Veyle dashed over to Celica and got prepared to block the attack from Mario for Celica. Mario dashed over to Shez and attempted to punch him. But Shez was quick enough to dodge the attack.

Shez muttered, "If Zethus is able to do all of this, who knows what else he's going to do... what if..." The heroes looked at Shez and then at each other in worry.

"HAH!" Mario shouted as he punched Shez. Shez dropped his weapons and fell backward. Mario got ready to perform a fire attack as Alcryst shot an arrow directly at his wounds. Mario fell onto the ground and looked over in anger.

Alcryst yelled, "G-Gah! I'm so sorry!"

"Don't apologize! We need to give it our all!!" Kirby yelled. Alcryst slowly nodded as he pulled back his string on his bow. Mario looked over to Alcryst and dashed at him. Alcryst panicked and froze in place but luckily Kirby dashed over and hit Mario from the side.

Mario rolled away from the heroes and looked over at them all. All of them had their weapons up as Mario got prepared to attack them again. Suddenly Veyle shot a spell directly at Mario and then he slammed against one of the buildings.

Veyle gasped, "I-I didn't know I was that capable!"

"We need to give it all we can! No time to waste and if you're able to do ANYTHING, do it!" Shez yelled. The heroes nodded as they all dashed at Mario. Mario looked at the heroes and got prepared to block but they all slammed their weapons against him.

Mario shouted, "W-WHAT THE HELL?!"

"Mario... come on I know you can find a way to break out from this spell..." Shez mumbled. But deep down he knew that wasn't an option. The heroes all dashed at Mario one more time and all together they attacked him with their best attacks.

The heroes finally beat Mario, but it wasn't an accomplishment or anything. A reminder of the constant pain they were going through. The heroes walked over to where Mario was but they all soon realized that his body was no longer there.

Celica questioned, "How odd, Marth's body was still here when we defeated him but Mario?"

"I guess we didn't have a chance to say goodbye..." Kirby muttered The heroes looked at one another and slowly nodded, just remembering how great of a leader he was. Even though he wasn't perfect, he had a noble heart.
