Storming Almyra ~ Chapter 73

"W-What was that?! Did I hear that right!?" Claude asked. Link nodded as he showed his communicator. There was already a raid at Lythos Castle. It wasn't daytime, they were planning to strike late at night.

Link suggested, "Do we get the guards ready?" Claude nodded as he got the guards prepared. Suddenly the doors were broken down, the two took out their weapons as Byleth swung his sword around.

Byleth laughed, "Oh hello my dear student, I hope you and I can have fun fighting one another!"

"Don't you dare get anywhere closer," Claude muttered as he raised his bow and arrow. Byleth smiled at him as Ephriam, Meta Knight and Beth jumped in. Link got himself ready to attack as well.

Byleth laughed, "Actually. I would dare!" Claude jumped backward and shot an arrow directly into Byleth's eye. Byleth got hit and looked up as he pulled the arrow out. Link dashed in and swung his sword. Byleth was launched backward as he looked up in anger.

Ephraim attempted to attack but there was no luck. Link and Claude worked together as Claude shot arrows and Link swung his sword. "HAH!" Link swung his sword as Ephraim also fell backward. Meta Knight swung in to attack but soon Claude shot him down from the air.

"DON'T YOU EVER COME NEAR!"

"I WILL DO WHAT I WANT!" Byleth got his sword ready and extended it toward Claude. It whipped him as Claude dropped his bow. However, Link used himself as a decoy so Claude could get his bow. Link successfully managed to get Meta Knight away as Claude grabbed his bow. "So... you're really trying to be the best hero you can be?"

The two stood there quietly, then Claude smiled as he shot an arrow into the air. Byleth looked at him in confusion but attempted to whip him. "You may want to try again!" Byleth looked at Claude and soon an arrow landed on his back. Link smiled as Claude continued shooting arrows. Soon Link took out his bow and arrow and shot three arrows at the villains.

Byleth groaned, "You are all skilled..." Byleth looked over and signaled Ephraim. He dashed in as Link shot arrows at him. However, in the process Byleth wrapped his sword around Link. "AHAH!"

"AGH!"

"NO! YOU LEAVE HIM ALONE AT ONCE!" Claude ordered. He jumped backward and got prepared to shoot an arrow at Byleth.

Byleth laughed, "I wouldn't do that if I was you... your arrows hit very hard if you're using all your strength... that hero's relic could kill Link..." Claude stood there staring as he slowly put his bow and arrow down.

Link asked, "Claude?!"

"I can't hurt you, Byleth is right..." Byleth smiled evilly as the other villains smiled alongside him. Link looked at Claude in disbelief as Claude went backward. "But that doesn't mean you will get the scrolls."

Byleth laughed, "OH THAT MEANS THAT LINK GETS TO DIE!"

"DON'T YOU EVEN TRY!!" Claude shouted. Byleth looked at him as swirls filled his eyes again. Claude shook just by staring at him, that crazed look made him terrified. "Gods..."

Byleth sighed, "That's what I thought. Go ahead now, allow me to get the scrolls or Link dies..." Claude stared at him but he just couldn't get himself to move nor say anything. He was so distraught. "Hmm?"

Claude murmured, "The answer is still no."

"What was that you nuisance?" Claude glared at Byleth as he began to raise his bow and arrow again. Anger was filling his body, he wanted to protect Almyra. That's all he wanted to do, protect his own home.

Claude ordered, "I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY OF IT! YOU ARE LEAVING THIS PLACE AT ONCE!!" Byleth smirked at him as he raised his sword at Link. Suddenly there was an arrow shot at Byleth. He fell down and let go of Link. Claude looked up in confusion as he noticed it was none other than Alcryst.

Alcryst ordered, "If you don't leave this kingdom alone, I will have no choice but to kill you."

"HAH! LIKE A DEMON LIKE YOU IS ABLE TO DO THAT!" Byleth mocked. Alcryst put his bow and arrow down as Link went back with Claude. Claude was ready to shoot his arrow at Byleth. Soon he shot it but Byleth immediately was able to block it. "Go ahead and try that trick again. I DARE YOU!"

Alcryst muttered, "You are not getting anywhere near the scrolls of Almyra." Then Byleth took out a syringe. "I beg to differ actually..." Alcryst and Byleth looked at each other with fear. Link looked at them and dashed in.

"LINK!"

"AHAAHHA!" Byleth threw the syringe at Alcryst. Alcryst saw it coming at him, he was too afraid to move. Suddenly... it didn't hit Alcryst at all. Link had gotten in the way and got hit instead. "Oh! I still got someone... Claude's worthless bodyguard..."

Claude muttered, "Stay back... NOW..."
