Down Yet Another Two ~ Chapter 111

"We lost Rafal!" Marianne yelled. Shez looked around the area and was unable to locate Rafal. He took a deep breath and turned to the heroes. They were all standing there with worry on their faces.

Shez sighed, "We lost him... we need to find Chrom and Alear to make sure they're okay..." The heroes nodded as they looked around the town. It was quiet, very tranquil... "Where is everyone? Why is it so quiet around here?"

Marianne asked, "Did they see Alear and Chrom anywhere?" The heroes looked around and soon they spotted Gooey rolling over slowly.

"Gooey! I haven't seen you in a bit!" Kirby cheered. Gooey smiled as he took out a note. The heroes grabbed the note and they read the very messy handwriting on it.

Shez read, "Good... evening heroes. I know it's dumb for me to be formal but... I have really bigs news to tell you." He looked down at Gooey who pulled out another note and suddenly his cheerful expression turned to fear. Shez started to get nervous as he got ready to read the note.

"What does it say?" Elfilin asked as he flew over. Shez looked over the note and got prepared to read it out loud.

Shez read, "These news all relate to Chrom and Alear. I saw Byleth on my way over here and spotted that he was trying to attack the two. He attacked the two with a spell of some sort and then dashed away with them. Essentially, he kidnapped them."

"HE WHAT?!" Kirby shouted. Shez looked down at Gooey who looked scared. Shez took a deep breath and thought to himself.

Shez grunted, "He really wants to get rid of all of us in order to prevent whatever he's going to do in the long term." Gooey then took out another note. This was a little cleaner than the previous two but it wasn't any better. Elfilin grabbed the note and read it out loud.

"Also, he found a way to get Mario's body..." Elfilin read. The heroes looked at Elfilin in shock and then down at Gooey.

Kirby asked, "What the hell happened?! Why does he need to use Mario's body?!" Gooey took a deep breath and looked at Kirby.

Gooey explained, "Apparently they took his body because there's some interesting energy inside of him that they want to take a closer look at. As for Chrom and Alear, it's to get rid of them." Then he looked down at himself in sadness.

"I see... don't you worry about a thing Gooey, you did perfectly fine," Shez sighed. Gooey looked at him and nodded. Kirby hugged Gooey and then looked up at Shez.

Kirby said, "We would need all the help we could get. Can we please bring along Gooey?" Shez looked at Kirby and nodded.

"In fact, I think Mario would've liked you as a team member too, welcome to the team," Shez said with a smile. Gooey looked up at Shez and began to smile back at him. The rest of the heroes all looked at one another.

Shez muttered, "I know for a fact that Chrom left something in his room for us to take a look at in case anything were to happen to him..."

"A note?" Veyle asked. Shez nodded. The heroes looked around their surroundings. Then the storm began to start up again. The heroes quickly dashed back into the mansion as Shez went to sit down to think about what Chrom asked of him.

Shez said to himself, "Chrom told me to look for something... in his room. I'll go take a look and see what I can find." Shez looked up and saw the other heroes discussing with each other about what to do. He went up the stairs and slowly opened the door to Chrom's room.

It was neat and semi royal-like. However at the same time Chrom's desk was left a mess. Shez walked over to his desk and started to clean the mess that was left on top of the desk. He continued cleaning until he stumbled upon a series of notes. He wanted to read them in case that's what Chrom asked of him but the desk was still messy.

Shez continued on with cleaning the desk being as careful as possible not to ruin anything on there. Suddenly he spotted several photo frames on his desk. One with his wife and children, one with Claude, and one with his best friend when they were a lot younger.

Shez looked at the photo frames, more specifically the one with him and Byleth on it. He didn't know how to think about it, Chrom and Byleth looked a lot more different than how they do now. Truthfully, everyone ages but Shez saw that there was something unique about this photo.

"I am aware Chrom and Byleth have been friends for a long time but... wow they were friends ever since they were teens, that's honestly very impressive," Shez said with a smile. Just seeing Byleth happy nearly made him tear up. "I miss you a lot Byleth, all of us do."

Then he heard a knock on the door. Soon he spotted that it was Kirby slowly opening the door and closing it behind him. "Hey Shez! What are you doing in Chrom's room?" Shez stood there staring at Kirby as he put the photo frame down.

Shez explained, "Trying to find out what Chrom left for us... I can't find it anywhere but I decided to do him a favor and clean his desk for him." Kirby walked over and searched the desk. Then he saw the photo frames himself.

"That's how Emelia looked, I only met her once but she was so sweet. She treated me like I was her child, despite me being completely different from her and Chrom. She... was a nice woman," Kirby said as he pointed to the photo with Chrom and his family.

Shez said, "I wish I got to meet her, she seems gentle..." He finished cleaning and grabbed the note cards. He took a deep breath and started reading them. "Kirby, I think I found them!" Kirby looked over, getting excited to read the notes Chrom left for them.
