Conqueror of Darkness ~ Chapter 84

"Robin, I know you know there's a way out of this! I wanted to help you all those years ago! Let me attempt to help you again!" Chrom yelled. Robin looked at him and smiled.

Robin asked, "You... want to help me?! AHAHAH! Don't make me laugh..." Chrom looked at him in disbelief and then remembered all the events that happened. He wanted to at least try...

"Robin..."

"NOW IT'S YOUR TURN FOR YOU TO DIE ALONGSIDE THE REST OF THE HEROES!!" Robin laughed. Then he shot a beam out at the heroes. They jumped out of the way and looked over. Robin's eyes were no longer brown, they were red.

Eirika laughed, "CAN WE GO AHEAD AND KILL THEM TOO?!" He nodded as they dashed at the heroes. They jumped out of the way and Chrom looked at Robin with sadness growing inside him.

Robin laughed, "WITNESS THE GLORY OF THE FELL DRAGON!!" The heroes jumped out of the way again as Robin attempted to blast them again. Robin was starting to get frustrated. The heroes also continued to dodge his attacks alongside Ephraim and Eirika's.

Chrom grunted, "We need to find a way to get rid of all of them!"

"You said you wanted to try getting Robin back!" Alear yelled. Chrom looked down at his sword and then remembered everything so clearly.

"Robin-"

"CHROM! YOU NEVER CARED FOR MY HEALTH! I was out there SACRIFICING for the team and not ONCE did you CARE!!" Robin yelled. Chrom stared at him in disbelief. Robin looked at falchion and back at Chrom. "If you strike me down with that sword of yours... I will never forgive you."

"Robin... I would never do that..."

"You would... don't try to deny it," Soon he walked off as Chrom stood there staring at him, feeling more and more guilty about everything.

Chrom muttered, "I..."

"AHAHAH!" Robin laughed as he blasted Chrom. Chrom was sent backward and hit against a wall. He got more injured as he looked over toward Robin. Marianne dashed over and went to heal him again.

Marianne yelled, "Stop trying to fight him! It won't work!" Chrom nodded as he closed his eyes.

"I... I wish I could've tried helping him, I have been such a horrible friend..." Chrom whispered. Robin looked at him and back at his tome. Then he had a wide smile on his face.

Robin laughed, "Glad you finally learned from your mistakes. But it's been so long, how could I possibly forgive you..." Chrom looked at him and then fell back into Marianne's arms. The others dashed at Robin and attacked him.

Shez shouted, "HAH! TAKE THIS!!" Shez jumped into the air and slammed his swords on Robin. Robin looked over in anger and attempted to attack them but Alear dashed in to swing her sword. Robin fell backward and looked at the heroes in disgust. Suddenly the heroes spotted eyes appear on Robin's face.

Chrom asked, "Is... Is that the mark of Grima?"

"I was supposed to be Grima's successor, you poor thing! After so long it FINALLY WORKED! I will say I'm going to give thanks to our saviors..." Robin laughed. The group stared at one another in shock. Then Robin shot an attack at them. They barely dodged the attack as Robin got prepared to shoot another.

Marianne yelled, "LEAVE HERE AT ONCE!" Robin turned to her but soon Marianne backed away. Robin then shot a spell at Shez. He was launched backward and he fell onto the ground in pain. Eirika and Ephraim then dashed in to attack the group.

Alcryst was able to shoot arrows at them and then dashed in after them. He jumped up into the air and then shot more arrows at the group. They all fell backward while Robin started to get more and more furious with the group.

Robin shouted, "I ONLY WANTED REVENGE FOR WHAT YOU ALL DID TO OUR LORD AND SAVIOR!! I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR THAT CHROM!"

Chrom replied, "We did it because Ylisse was at stake! We couldn't let that monster take over our land-"

"OH BE QUIET!!" Robin got ready to blast them when Alear jumped in and slammed her sword on Robin. He fell backward and looked over in rage. The heroes got prepared as Robin slowly got up.

Eirika asked, "What do you suppose we do?"

"I have no reason to stay with these worms... I just need to get OUT OF HERE!" Robin yelled. Soon the rest of them retreated as well. The group stood there staring and then turned toward one another.

Chrom whispered, "I failed to save Robin... I failed at everything..." He got up and took a deep breath. He looked down toward himself and then turned around from the heroes. "I will be going now."

Alcryst yelled, "Chrom wait!" But he was already walking off. The group looked at one another in disbelief but soon Alcryst chased after him. He was worried about Chrom, something was troubling him besides not being able to save Robin. But what was it?
