Bursting The Little Bubble ~ Chapter 26

Alcryst and Shez walked out of the courtroom together and stood there staring off into the distance.

"I can't... I can't believe we lost that," Shez grunted. Alcryst looked down at himself and back up ahead. The defenders came dashing out of the room as they were cheering with one another.

Alcryst muttered, "Ugh... I'm the worst. I can never figure out what to do and what not to do... I'm so pathetic."

"Nonsense, you did all you could Alcryst..." Shez replied as he saw Byleth walk out of the room.

Byleth asked, "I'm surprised you would oppose me Shez. I thought you were in love with me."

Shez explained, "I am in love with you; however, that does not mean I'm going to accept the fact you were accused of murder. That's not how relationships go." Byleth stared at him and looked toward Alcryst.

Byleth mocked, "Aww, even the one who thinks they're pathetic wanted to try to go against my own friends. Truly who you are."

"Okay now that's uncalled for Byleth!" Shez shouted. Alcryst looked down at himself and took a deep breath. From the distance he saw the other team members walking over. He signaled Shez to see if they could convince the others that Byleth was guilty.

Byleth asked, "Uncalled for?! What in the world are you talking about!?"

"Calling Alcryst something he is struggling with!? That's unlike you!" Shez replied. Byleth noticed the group and took a deep breath.

Byleth replied, "You're right... I don't know what got to me... I apologize greatly." Shez stood there in disbelief as Alcryst looked over to see the group.

Alear sighed, "I'm glad that's settled Byleth. I was worried you weren't going to be proven innocent!"

"I agree, I was so nervous... yet we have no idea who killed Mario... gods that entire event has left me so unsettled," Byleth replied as he shook his head.

Alcryst muttered, "This guy is such a liar... to believe he and I worked together on the concert... This is unbelievable and I know for a fact that he is lying..."

"Alcryst?" Byleth asked. Alcryst panicked and looked at him as he shook his head.

Chrom asked, "You look nervous, is something troubling you?"

"I-I'm sorry! I must get going now!" Alcryst replied as he found himself running off. Byleth watched in the distance as he slowly followed as the others had a conversation with one another. Alcryst stopped and looked down at himself. "What was I thinking?! How useless can I be..."

Byleth sighed, "But you have some use..." Alcryst looked toward Byleth as he slowly took out his bow and arrow. "Come on now! You have so much use for me! Don't ever think you're useless ever again!"

Alcryst grunted, "Step away from me... if you dare try to fight me the way you killed Mario I don't want to hear any of it. I am not afraid to fight you, especially since you... you were a murderer!"

"That's what you want to say? And what did you just invite yourself into the team?" Byleth mocked as he took out his sword.

Alcryst replied, "The heroes were willing to invite me into the team. The vote was unanimous anyways, you weren't there..."

Byleth laughed, "HAH! They really let someone like you get into the team? Especially how useless and weak you are? Is that really what you want to believe!? THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT TO THINK!?"

"STAY BACK!" Alcryst shot an arrow and it hit Byleth in the eye. He suddenly had the growing fear of not being perfect. The haunting memories of not being perfect. He hated it all, now that his eye was hit directly... he was beyond pissed.

Byleth asked, "You... you dared to ruin my perfect ways?! YOU WERE THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR RUINING EVERYTHING! I WAS PERFECT UNTIL YOU DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT ALL!!!" Alcryst looked at him in confusion as he slowly put his bow and arrow down.

Alcryst asked; slightly panicked, "What are you talking about!? I didn't do anything!"

"You were the demon in my dreams... that person who swore to ruin my perfection... I FINALLY FOUND YOU!!" Byleth replied as he started laughing. Then he took out the dagger which he kept stained with blood.

Alcryst thought, "Oh gods, what did I get myself into now?! I can't believe I was so foolish to get into this mess! Now he's out to kill me!? I can't believe how worthless I am..." Alcryst raised his bow and arrow as Byleth's eyes got filled with swirls.

Byleth laughed, "AHAHAHA!! HAHAHAHA!! YOU TRULY BELIEVE THAT YOU'RE GOING TO BE GETTING AWAY WITH THIS?!? NOT A DAMN CHANCE!!"

Alcryst grunted, "If I have to fight and defend myself from someone who's induced with despair. You're insane in the head and I will do everything in my power to protect the heroes!"

"GO AHEAD AND TRY!!!"
