Conflict Stirring Up ~ Chapter 89

Ivy explained, "Not to ruin the mood even worse but I heard horrible news. Byleth is going to come back to Elusia and attempt to murder me... Apparently the best place to open the gateway is in Elusia castle.

I came here as fast as possible because Hortensia told me about the situation. I told her to flee but didn't want to try. I need you to come back to Elusia as soon as possible to help protect the kingdom from his attacks."

"A-Are you certain that this is safe?!" Kirby asked.

Ivy replied, "I have no choice... I am worried for my safety as well as Hortensia's safety. Please... I need you all to come."

"We will," Shez sighed. Then they heard footsteps in the distance. It was none other than Celica. She stared at the heroes and then looked toward Ivy.

Celica sighed, "Queen Ivy..."

"Princess Celica! I'm shocked to see you here!"

"I couldn't resist and not come, I heard the news and I knew I had to react as soon as possible," Celica replied. The heroes looked at her and back at Ivy. "Queen Ivy I will come with you if none of the heroes will."

Ivy sighed, "I believe all the heroes will be coming."

"Almost all of us, Kirby you stay here with Chrom and Marianne and once all of this is over notify them to meet us at Elusia Castle," Shez ordered. Kirby nodded and dashed back to the mansion.

Alcryst sighed, "We better get to Elusia castle quickly in order to protect Ivy and Hortensia... let's get going then." The remaining heroes nodded as they followed after Ivy. Meanwhile, Marianne was still healing Chrom. Claude sat there in silence as Marianne did her absolute best. Soon Kirby dashed in and sat with the heroes.

Just beside him was Gooey who waddled inside slowly and sat beside Kirby. Nobody really said a word toward one another, they just felt quiet and were unable to do anything. The heroes continued their way to Elusia castle but right before that Celica was stopped by none other than Alm.

Alm asked, "Celica? Are you sure it is a good idea to go to Elusia castle and protect them?"

"I have to! I know how much I say that I don't want to fight but... do we even have a choice?" Celica replied. The heroes looked at each other while Ivy looked down at Alm.

Alm explained, "We still need to deal with the situation regarding Mario! We don't even know who his killer is!"

"Yes we do actually," Shez said as he interrupted. The two looked over as Alm looked over with confusion. "The killer was in fact Byleth. All of us are regretting bailing him out of Jail Time and now he's causing far more problems than normal... something has affected his mind."

Alm asked, "So it was true... Byleth managed to find a way to kill Mario. Unbelievable..." The heroes nodded in sorrow as Alcryst looked down at his bow and arrow. The heroes talked with Alm for a bit while Alcryst just stared down at himself. Ivy flew over, got down from her wyvern and walked to Alcryst.

"Alcryst?"

"Queen Ivy..." He said with hesitation. Ivy smiled at him and soon Alcryst smiled back at him.

Ivy questioned, "Are you doing alright? You seem really quiet and reserved. You talk often with others but now you're being far more quiet than usual... why is that?"

"It's about Byleth... and Brodia at the same time, I'll start with Brodia. Have you heard anything from Diamant? He didn't even consider helping your kingdom or Firene's... I'm becoming worried," Alcryst explained.

Ivy described, "I didn't really get anything from him unfortunately. I would've told you if something was sent to us but we didn't get a single word. All we know is that those in Firene are under some despair spell alongside those in Solm..."

"Solm was infected too?! What in the world is going on with this man?! Infecting place by place, he doesn't want us to succeed does he?" Alcryst complained. Ivy nodded with sorrow as Alcryst looked back at the heroes. "Anyways..."

Ivy asked, "Is something else on your mind?"

Alcryst unfolded, "Yeah there's one more... Byleth. Byleth was a lot kinder when me and him worked together when we were handling a concert back when Chrom was infected with some... technology virus I'm assuming. Anyways... he's changed so much. Thinking I'm a demon of some sort."

"Alcryst... that's horrible," Ivy muttered. Alcryst sadly nodded as he put his hand on his chest. "Well... I believe the heroes will find a way behind his lies, I'm also certain Byleth wasn't this way either."

Shez announced, "Alright! Sorry for the wait but we're ready to go!" The others looked at one another and smiled. Ivy nodded as she got back on her wyvern. The heroes waved at Alm as they dashed alongside Ivy to Elusia. It was going to be a little rough but they were certain they were going to get there in time.
