It was late at night, the winds were whistling through the night. Most of the town was asleep for the most part. Byleth checked the time, 1:01. It was the perfect time to escape from the home. He grabbed his handbag and filled it up with supplies he would need. Then he took a deep breath and went to the mirror.
"You're ready for the adventure?" The mirror asked him. Byleth looked at them and nodded. "You will travel to Elusia, from Elusia you will find an abandoned chapel. That's where the scroll is located. Meanwhile, down near Sumeru you will find a hidden temple which contains the book."
Byleth replied, "Understood..." The figure in the mirror disappeared as Byleth creaked his door open. There wasn't anyone awake. He went down the hallway and looked around the entire house. Large yet silent, everyone was asleep. Byleth went down the stairs slowly, listening to the creaks the house made.
He got onto the first floor and silently opened the front door. It creaked open and Byleth stepped out of the house. Byleth locked the doors and started walking down the streets of the town. His footsteps made sounds through the night. The sounds of footsteps hitting the concrete sidewalk. Byleth stopped and looked around the area.
Cold... silent... that's how he saw it. Nothing more but an empty field of nothingness. He felt exhausted at times, it was being pushed on him more than he realized. There were very few citizens awake at this hour. Some of them were partying with one another. That was typical to find around the town. Still he kept walking down the street.
He was surprised nobody in the home even heard him leave, he was just going down the road. But they were going to find him missing within a few hours. He had to be quick about getting away from the town, that wasn't so difficult to do. He kept walking down the street and made it past the town welcome sign. He took a deep breath and walked further down the road. All there was, was darkness. He took out a flashlight and began to shine it down the road.
Byleth muttered, "So far, all is well. Nobody is out here to find me escaping from my home." Soon he heard creaks in the forest. The crickets chirped through the night as the rustling got worse. Byleth shined his light everywhere, trying to keep a calm composure. Then suddenly a figure in the distance came out and got ready to shoot Byleth. "BACK AWAY!" Then he grabbed his sword and whipped the figure. They jumped back and looked at him.
"I've been trying to get you to snap to your senses!"
"Why are you awake... Why are you still following me... DEMON!" Byleth shouted. The figure stood there staring at Byleth and began to shoot more arrows at him. Byleth dodged them and whipped him in return. Finally shining the light on him. It was Alcryst again, he was on the ground looking at Byleth.
Alcryst grunted, "I don't understand why you refer to me out of all people a demon! I don't get it at all, why do you constantly think I'm... a demon!?"
"YOU ARE ONE ONLY DEMONS THAT FOLLOW ME THROUGH THE NIGHT!!" Byleth shouted. He looked like he was shaking from fear. Alcryst stood there staring at him. "WHY WOULD YOU BE UP!?"
Alcryst muttered, "I had a feeling you were up to something. I was awake when you left the house. I followed you to see what you were doing."
Byleth shouted, "THAT'S WHAT A DEMON DOES!"
"W-What in the world are you even talking about!?" Alcryst asked as he was nearly slashed across the face he jumped back and looked up into the air. He took a deep breath and shot Byleth down.
Byleth grunted, "You... you are ruining my path to PERFECTION!" Then he took out a tome and blasted Alcryst. Alcryst fell against a tree and fell down against it. Byleth took a deep breath and put the tome away. Alcryst stared at him in agony but he knew he couldn't match him. "You are defeated now."
Alcryst muttered, "You..."
"Trying to be so heroic isn't the best idea, that's what demons do anyways, how unfortunate. I grew to like you a lot." Byleth sighed as he pushed Alcryst against the tree. Alcryst tried to break free but he was far too afraid to even try. He felt the pressure get worse and worse. Then he fell down. "Whatever, I have more to do than to defeat you."
Alcryst asked, "W-What?" Byleth soon dashed off from the scene. Alcryst put his head against the tree and took a few deep breaths. He was exhausted. Just tired of everything that was happening. "I'm so pathetic... why did I ever think about going after him. That was such a horrible idea."
He got up and dusted himself off, feeling the blood that was on the left side of his head. He took a deep breath and sat on the grass again. He grabbed part of his cape and ripped it off with an arrow. Wrapping it around the wound, slowly closing his eyes. He was tired and was losing his strength to stay awake.
Meanwhile, Byleth was still running from the forest and finally made it out. He took out his communicator and looked for which place was the easiest. Eluisa was a little closer than Sumeru was, he looked for the best way to travel up to the kingdom. He was prepared, even prepared to face the queen of Elusia himself.
Byleth sighed, "This shouldn't be hard to get my hands on... let's do it." He took a deep breath and dashed off as he looked behind him. Trying his best to see if Alcryst was still willing to follow him. However, he wasn't there. Byleth then continued down the snowy path.
Byleth looked around the area, curious of what the world had to offer besides the fighting. Realizing how beautiful the snow areas of Dawn were, such as Elusia. He took a deep breath and sat down on the cold snow. It was already snowing harshly in Elusia despite it being Kila. He loved the scenery, everything about it was beautiful.
Byleth sighed, "Soon... that scroll will be in my hands..." He looked down at himself and started to laugh. "AHAAHA! AHAHAAHHAA!!"
