Forgiveness and A Warning ~ Chapter 91

Kirby asked, "Um... Marianne?"

"Yes?"

"How's Chrom doing?" Marianne looked down to Chrom and sat there in silence. He seemed to be doing a lot better than the last time Kirby checked in but he seemed out of it. Claude kept holding Chrom's hand, praying for him to wake up at some point.

Marianne sighed, "He appears to be almost healed but I'm not sure when he's going to wake up..." The group looked down at Chrom who just appeared to be in a peaceful slumber.

"I'm really sorry for what we did Claude... we weren't always so familiar with Demon because of rare it is for Chrom to bring him out... we didn't realize we almost killed him just trying to defend for our lives," Kirby apologized. Claude looked over toward Kirby and smiled.

Claude replied, "You should be apologizing to Chrom. I know he and I are always so connected but he is the one who needs the apology. After all you guys were the ones responsible for harming him." Kirby nodded as they sat there in silence. Soon something was happening. Chrom was finally waking up.

"It worked!" Marianne cheered. Chrom slowly opened his eyes as Claude hugged him tightly. Chrom hugged him back softly as Kirby patiently waited for Chrom to finish with his hug.

Chrom asked, "W-What happened? All I remember is Demon attempted to take over me, then I nearly died..."

"About that..." Kirby muttered. Chrom looked over at Kirby who was looking at him with sorrow. "Chrom... the team and I want to apologize for hurting you so badly that we nearly killed you. None of us are that familiar with your demon form. It scared us all and we believed the best we could do was to hurt you to the point you nearly died...

On behalf of the rest of the team members I want to say a huge sorry to you. We were stupid for not knowing any other solution... we could've lost you if we were any more reckless." Chrom noticed that Kirby had tears in his eyes and then cleared the tears out of his eyes.

Chrom sighed, "Kirby... you don't need to worry about anything... I already forgive you. You're a great person and you guys did something to try to stop me. I appreciate you guys actually trying even if that nearly resulted in my death. All that matters is that I forgive you." Kirby smiled at Chrom and hugged him tightly.

Marianne explained, "Chrom... Kirby told me a few things that I think is worth hearing."

"Go right ahead," Chrom replied. Marianne nodded and then took a deep breath.

Marianne explained, "The heroes told me that they went to Elusia in order to protect the queen and the princess from Byleth and his crew. They want us to meet as soon as possible in order to stop them in their tracks."

"I see..."

"Are you able to walk fine?" Claude asked. Chrom looked down at himself and nodded. They got up together and then left the building. They looked around the town and everyone seemed to be enjoying the cloudy day.

Chrom asked, "Claude... what are you going to do?"

"I'm gonna head back to Ylisse to make sure everyone there is safe and to let them know I'm good. Then I'll head back to Almyra to make sure that we take better safety precautions," Claude explained. The two nodded at each other and then smiled. Chrom held Claude's hand as Claude blushed. Soon they exchanged kisses with one another.

Chrom sighed, "Be careful dear, I don't want you to get hurt."

"I don't want to see YOU get hurt either honey,"

"Alrighty, Alrighty, enough of flirting you two..." The heroes looked around in shock as they looked over to a figure in the shadow. It was someone sitting on a horse.

Marianne asked, "Um..." Then they jumped off and landed safely on the ground. It was... Kamisato Ayato! "Ayato! You came back?!"

Ayato laughed, "Thankfully I am alive. As for the other heroes I'm not certain what happened to any of them..."

"You left without saying much... but we do know what happened to them..." Kirby mumbled. Ayato's smile soon disappeared as it transformed into fear.

Ayato asked, "Did Byleth kill them!?"

"Thankfully he didn't but he did something else with them... turns out Byleth managed to find a way to infect them with some despair substance... none of us know what else he's planning besides trying to find a way to get the crown from the Netherworld," Kirby described.

Ayato asked, "The... The Netherworld?"

"It's a super long story, we'll tell you on the way to Elusia Castle, we have to get there as soon as possible so let's go!" Kirby yelled. The heroes nodded as they followed after him, getting their way to Elusia castle as soon as possible.

Chrom asked, "Are you sure we'll be able to make it time?"

"We just need to press forward, we have no idea what else is awaiting us there..." Kirby mumbled. Chrom nodded as the rest of the heroes continued running to Elusia. A long trip but they had full belief they could make it in time.
