Welcome To The Netherworld ~ Chapter 96

"AHAHAHAHA!!" Byleth laughed. He looked down toward the portal and smiled toward Rafal. "Let's get this journey started! THE CROWN!! IT'S SO UNBELIEVABLY CLOSE!!!"

Alcryst shouted, "NO!" Then he shot an arrow directly at Byleth. Byleth was hit in the arm and soon the rest of the heroes broke down the door.

Marianne yelled, "We're too late!" The heroes looked over as Byleth pulled the arrow out of his arm and then healed his arm in the process. Smiling at the heroes after everything he has done.

"The Netherworld is finally in my hands, I've been planning to travel to this place for the past several MONTHS AND NOW I CAN!!" Byleth laughed hysterically.

Chrom muttered, "So... he's ready for the crown is he? He's out here to kill us all... I should've known this was going to happen..."

"AHAAHAAH!!!" He continued laughing as he finally finished healing. He looked at Rafal and then back at the heroes. "None of you will be able to stop me, once the portal to the Netherworld closes it will be only me and Rafal... soon the crown will be ALL MINE!!"

Ayato shouted, "What is wrong with you!? You keep wanting to get the crown! THIS IS MADNESS!!"

"SO WHAT?! I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER KNOWING THE CROWN IS ALMOST IN MY HANDS!!!" Byleth laughed. The two looked at one another and smiled.

Celica yelled, "There's no reason for you to focus all your attention on this crown! We can still fix this if you just explain why you want it!"

"I want this crown for power... that's all I want, power... POWER!" Byleth said with a smile across his face. The heroes kept on staring at him as Byleth got himself prepared to leave. "I've been wanting power for so long, now that I have this vessel within my hands I can finally do that."

Chrom asked, "V-Vessel?!"

"Did something slip out of my mouth!?"

"VESSEL!?" The heroes asked while in disbelief. Byleth stared at them and then turned to Rafal. Even he was confused, but not as shocked as the heroes were. Byleth turned back to the heroes and then took a deep breath.

Byleth laughed, "Spoiler alert, your friend is still somewhere deep within me. But now that I have taken control of his body... well the rest is history. I killed Mario, I did all these things.... Byleth was just the perfect person to manipulate...

I made sure I made it clear that he and I were bound together, that we were unable to be separated and that I would DOMINATE HIS BODY!! I have done so many great things compared to the things he would've done if he didn't do it on his own. How pathetic is THAT! It went all according to plan... Byleth isn't coming back. It's only me and ONLY ME!!!"

Shez asked, "WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO BYLETH?! HE WAS MY BEST FRIEND!! HE WAS MY BOYFRIEND AND YET YOU TOOK HIM AWAY!?!"

"I did what I could," Byleth giggled.

Chrom shouted, "HE MEANT EVERYTHING TO US! YOU'RE MAKING HIM DO THINGS HE DOESN'T WANT TO DO!!" Byleth smiled at the heroes again as he walked back to the portal. "WHO ARE YOU ANYWAYS!?"

Byleth sighed, "That's a tale for another time. I'm just nothing more but a painted lie..." The heroes stood there staring and Byleth turned to Rafal. "Let's go then..."

Alear shouted, "NOT ON OUR WATCH!" She threw her sword as Veyle threw an attack but Byleth was able to dodge the attack with ease.

"Trying out something new I'm assuming? Unlucky for you I'm far more skilled than ever before! Now I finally know how to find a way to destroy you all..." Byleth giggled.

Chrom muttered, "This is... insane... this is madness... what did we deserve to ever get this!?"

"AHAHAHA! YOU ALL EXISTED AND JUST HAD TO STAND IN MY PATHWAY!! I KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO LOSE YOUR CLOSEST FRIEND BUT THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO NOW!!!" Byleth laughed. He looked down at the heroes who were all standing there shaking. Then he turned toward Rafal again and smiled.

Rafal asked, "Oh so now we're going?"

"Why of course! I have no need to waste my time on these precious heroes..." Byleth giggled. Soon the other villains stood in front of the portal. The heroes were no longer trapped but they had an even bigger situation in front of them. "Go ahead and deal with them for me... I have other things to do."

Eirika, Ephraim and Beth all said in union, "Understood..." Then Byleth turned over to face the heroes. None of them were able to do much, they were just standing there in shock.

Byleth giggled, "We'll most likely meet again very soon heroes... until that day comes... I want to bid you all farewell... AHAHAHA!"

"NO!" But it was all too late, Byleth had jumped into the portal. Soon Rafal joined him as the portal closed. The remaining villains put their weapons up as the heroes got prepared to fight them.

"So.... you want to work for him!?"

"We always wanted to... we are just doing as told and that means that you heroes get to DIE TODAY!!" Ephraim laughed. The heroes were more than ready to fight but most importantly, they knew how to get to the Netherworld.
