"AH!" Kirby shouted as he nearly got shocked by one of the electric bolts. The heroes looked up and then saw that the thunder was getting worse. Chrom looked around and found the newly built announcement stand. He dashed over and grabbed the microphone.
Chrom announced, "CITIZENS OF HERO TOWN! WE ALL ORDERING A MANDATORY LOCKDOWN! DO NOT LEAVE YOUR HOUSES UNLESS IT IS FOR ANY SORTS OF EMERGENCIES WE ARE UNDER A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING!!!" The citizens started to panic as the winds got stronger.
"THE WINDS ARE SO STRONG!!" Alear shouted. Chrom looked up and then looked back at the heroes. He dashed over to them and placed a shield. It was able to protect them from the electric shocks.
Claude asked, "You want all the kingdoms to go for a mandatory lockdown?!"
"We have no choice, but it can ensure the safety of the citizens from anything Byleth plans on doing," Chrom replied.
Ivy groaned, "There's just so much going on all over the place. Me and Claude will be unable to head back to our kingdoms if the storm continues like this..."
"We can send emergency signals to the kingdoms! The problem is only Mario could send those but..." Shez announced before backing down. The heroes looked at him and stared at one another with worry. The heroes were unable to do much, that's when Claude came up with an idea.
Claude suggested, "I think there's a possibility that I am able to hack into them and send the signals from there. Is anyone willing to give up their communicator for me to try?" The heroes stared at one another as Chrom took off his.
"Here, if it ends up breaking we can repair it after the whole Byleth situation finishes," Chrom responded. Claude smiled and took his communicator. While the heroes waited, the electric bolts continued crashing against the shields.
Shez sighed, "Never would've thought that Byleth would end up being a vessel for whatever is corrupting him. But I am curious, why did they choose him out of all people?"
Veyle explained, "Most likely because; as you guys describe him, smart and intelligent. I am aware that most people want to take over weak people and use them as vessels but this person wanted to use Byleth."
"The question is... why did they want to corrupt Byleth's body?" Alear questioned. The heroes stood there staring at one another as Chrom stared down at his palms.
Chrom sighed, "I had a vision one day, it was Byleth... flames everywhere. But I remember something that stuck with me ever since I had that nightmare..."
"What was that?"
"Revenge is coming, after what you had done to me... I will make sure I won't back down," Chrom repeated. The heroes stood there in confusion. "I don't know what it means but it's probably connected to who is corrupting Byleth."
Shez groaned, "I just don't understand, why would they focus all their attention on Byleth? Who would want revenge?" Chrom thought for a moment but nothing was able to come through. He felt worried that he was soon unable to do anything about his friend. His life was at stake, he was so scared.
Chrom replied, "I'm sorry, I just don't know who it could be..." The heroes nodded sorrowfully as Claude continued to work on the communicator. "Any progress Claude?" Claude looked over and looked back at the communicator.
Claude responded, "I think it's something? These things are a lot more complicated than I thought they are!"
"Byleth and Albedo designed them... speaking, do any of us know what happened to the remaining heroes?" Chrom wondered. The heroes all shook their heads and suddenly an electric bolt shocked the shield.
Celica shouted, "GAH!! WHAT IS THAT?!"
"It was an electric bolt, it just shocked us..." Chrom groaned. Celica looked around and then looked up as the thunder clouds continued roaring. "WE NEED TO GET INTO A BUILDING NOW!!"
Kirby asked, "So how are we going to get to the mansion within this giant storm?" Chrom looked around and then slowly moved forward, the shield moved forward as well. The heroes followed after him as Chrom continued pushing forward. Then they were able to safely arrive at the mansion. They dashed in as Chrom got rid of the shield.
"Okay, we're back inside, what else are we able to do in the long term?" Shez asked.
Alear sighed, "We need to find what exactly is corrupting Byleth's body, after what Chrom said we do have some leads..."
"What leads?" Alcryst asked. Alear turned toward Chrom who was standing there thinking long and hard.
Chrom sighed, "Like I said earlier, there are some leads we can follow after. The vessel is someone who is wanting revenge over something that happened... yet I cannot put my finger on it."
"Someone taking on revenge..."
"I don't know who it is but let's think about what we have defeated, we defeated the heart, Zethus, Zehira, and finally a virus. I'm not sure if a heart of Dawn wants to take over a random person, we did repair it so that's out of the picture," Chrom noticed. He stood there in silence and then turned over toward the others.
Shez said, "Yeah good point, Zethus and Zehira are long dead so they're out of the picture as well..."
"That leaves the virus... have we ever defeated it?" Alear asked. Chrom looked down and then back at the heroes.
Chrom said, "I'm not so sure... perhaps after you all managed to save my body, the virus managed to escape..."
"But that virus is technology related! I don't understand why it would do something like that..." Alear yelled while confused. Chrom looked down at himself and took a deep breath. "Shoot, none of our villains are trying to take him over so what exactly could be taking him over?" The heroes stood there thinking and that's when Shez suddenly remembered something.
He dashed up the stairs and ran into Byleth's room. It was trashed but more importantly there was a mirror, covered in sticky notes with instructions to kill Mario. Shez looked at the mirror and realized all the cracks in it. Suddenly he spotted something emerging from the mirror. He pushed it onto the ground in worry and looked around.
Shez looked at the mirror and slowly got up, he wiped himself down and stood there watching in disbelief. "I think... I found something that can lead us to the answer..." He looked around and then dashed out of his room. "I found something!"
Alear asked, "What did you find out?" Shez guided the heroes into Byleth's room and that's when they all came to the mirror.
"Something tells me that the mirror did something to him..." Shez said as he pointed to the mirror. The heroes got down and looked over it, getting nervous slowly about what truly was hidden behind the mirror.
