Then Byleth stabbed Alfred's arm. Alfred felt himself getting dizzy and passing out. Byleth stared down at him and turned to Celine.
"W-What are you doing?!" Celine questioned. There was no response, in fact Byleth dashed over and stabbed Celine's arm with a syringe.
Rafal asked, "So those are despair syringes, correct?"
"Correct you are, these should infect them sooner than later, they will attack the heroes if they were to come to Firene. Despair remnants work under my command based on this syringe," Byleth explained.
Rafal sighed, "Interesting... I guess the heroes will have to be dealing with a lot of trouble." Byleth then pointed at Alerius. "Oh you want me to infect him too? Don't mind if I do..." Byleth smiled as he went down the library to find the scrolls.
Byleth said, "While we wait for them to wake up... let's go looking for their scrolls." Rafal nodded as he finished and walked over to where Byleth was and the two began their search.
Rafal sighed, "You know... I think our dynamic between each other is getting better and stronger each time we're together..."
"You make a fair point Rafal, I'm very glad to see that you see our friendship in this way. When I and you became friends I instantly saw how much potential we had, we were going to be unstoppable..." Byleth laughed. Rafal smiled at him as the two continued.
Rafal sighed, "Before I say anything more, where are the others?"
"The losers who were dealing with the soldiers out there?"
"Yeah..."
"Most likely finished and are waiting for instructions or planning to betray us," Byleth replied. Rafal stared at the books in confusion and turned over to Byleth.
Rafal asked, "Planning to betray us?"
"You have seen the signs haven't you? They're planning on something, Marth is their leader and I know he's doing something that will go against me. I just know it..." Byleth grumbled.
Rafal replied, "Well, what signs do you see? I don't care about the others so I'm never paying attention."
Byleth explained, "When I tell Marth about what we're doing next, he seems more and more annoyed with me. Perhaps it's the fact I am annoying but I know for a fact that something is troubling him..."
"It's probably a phase, he'll get over it with no problems,"
"Are you understanding me Rafal?!"
Rafal asked, "What the hell is making you so pressed?!" Byleth looked down at himself and took a deep breath.
Byleth explained, "I'm not being pressed in the slightest. I don't want losers like the other villains to be at my side anymore. I decided that we need to get the scrolls immediately and that we will kill all of team hero. Do you hear me right?! WE ARE GOING TO DEFEAT ALL OF TEAM HERO!"
"What's with the sudden change in attitude? You aren't like this at all!?"
"I GUESS YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO DEAL WITH THIS SUDDEN CHANGE IN ATTITUDE! NONE OF YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH THIS IS AFFECTING ME!!" The swirls in Byleth's eyes got bigger as the purple aura surrounded him more.
Rafal responded, "Why don't you keep it down?!" Then they heard footsteps in the distance. It was Alerius, Celine and Alfred. They were induced and were waiting for instructions. Byleth turned to them and smiled.
Byleth ordered, "Glad you're all awake, you will stay here and defend Firene. If you see any of the heroes coming you make sure they don't move anywhere closer. Do I make myself clear?"
Alfred answered, "Of course. We will do everything in our power to defend Firene."
"Good... do you know where your scrolls are?"
"Down there," Alfred pointed to a small area where there were several scrolls hidden there. Rafal looked through them and grabbed them.
Byleth giggled, "I appreciate the help. You are all great people." Rafal handed the scrolls to Byleth as he grabbed them and walked ahead. Rafal suddenly became unsettled by the despair-induced royals.
Alerius asked, "Do you have a problem Rafal?"
"Not at all..." He walked ahead as Byleth paused. Rafal stood there staring at him in confusion as Byleth smiled. "Byleth, are you there?" Byleth didn't say anything, but rather he stood there quietly giggling.
Byleth laughed, "You know... my army could be so much stronger if I could make the villains fall under my command. Here I'll tell you what, we induce all of them to make sure none of them plan to betray me."
"That's a great idea,"
"I have a different plan for the heroes though... I might destroy them all or I might think of something else..." Byleth giggled. He looked down at himself and stuck the syringe into his arm. "I MUCH RATHER BE INDUCED WITH DESPAIR THAN RUN AROUND BEING FREE!!"
Rafal said while turning around, "That's... great Byleth." Byleth turned over and smiled at him. Rafal looked slightly over and noticed that Byleth was walking to him with a syringe in his hands. "W-What are you doing?!"
Byleth said, "Don't you worry about a thing Rafal. You are my best friend now and this won't sting a bit..."
"I don't understand why I have to be stabbed with that... thing!? GET AWAY FROM ME!!" Rafal fell onto the ground as Byleth stood overhead smiling at Rafal.
Byleth laughed, "This will only hurt for a little...." Then...
