you find out in the morning while he is still asleep. excited and nervous. you don't tell him straight away, deciding to cuddle against him any chance you get. firstly you wander around an art exhibition, holding hands. one painting, you stare at much longer than the others, smiling widely. it's a sketch of a mother resting her hand over her baby bump and it's called 'beauty of motherhood'. he can't help but admire the beauty of it all, hoping to see you like that one day. 'isn't she stunning?' you ask him while placing your hand over your belly. 'imagine if i was pregnant'. he cuddles you into his side, smiling at the idea. secondly you wondered into an old bookstore, still holding hands. you pick up a few novels, reading out parts about the protagonist being pregnant. 'can you imagine if i was pregnant' you tell him and again he smiles. 'i wish you were'. as you sit down at a cute little cafe, holding each other's hands while gazing at each other, you can't take it any longer, leaning against his ear and whispering a 'i'm pregnant' and he looks back. 'really?' he asks and you simply nod. a smile appears on his face, kissing each knuckle with tenderness and whispering 'gonna take care of you' 'we're gonna be parents' 'best gift ever' and in that moment you can't help but grin, finally content with him by your side.
