Hello lovelies!
So, this piece was requested by my lovely friend, avaaviesflowergirl, because we have once again paired up two of our characters: Chiyoko and Hideki! As it so happens, this is also doubling as Hideki's intro to my art book!
So, let me start off by saying that I am absolutely in love with Chiyoko's design, and it was an honor to get to draw her—I had a lot of fun with her hair and face, even though side views are the challenge for many artists, including myself XD also I will say I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth the process was for her haori design—it was actually pretty fun to do!
And I might've forgotten to add her necklace until the end but don't worry about it lolz
I actually sketched this out on my phone last night to get the general idea, and then transferred it over to my tablet to do the final line art and coloring! I might try that process more because I think it made it a lot easier and smoother of a process...or maybe I just struggle with doing complete drawings on my phone now ever since I upgraded to the iPad mini and stylus lifestyle- I promise I'll never forget my roots ✊
Anyways, considering that this was the first time I've drawn Hideki since I made his chapter in my OC book, I was also pretty pleasantly surprised with the process! Granted his hair did take a few trial and error sessions to get the right texture (plus I always find that I draw hair fluffier/wavier in future renditions- don't know what that's about it's a mystery I guess XD) but hey the final product did get my sister's approval so that probably counts for something XD
Now, to wrap this lovely gift up and commemorate the intro of a new character to my art book, I have for you a taisho secret!
Word to the wise is despite his initial shyness, Hideki can be quite the hopeless romantic, and he particularly enjoys holding hands/giving hugs! :D
