Hello friends and readers!! I hope you're all doing well! And I also hope you don't mind the long gap between chapter updates—I have been in schoolwork hell, but now that it's spring break I decided that I finally needed to stop procrastinating and continue this series-

So, without further ado, I'm happy to introduce the next installment of my Wicked OC casting au thing—my girl Yuna as Elphaba, the ~wicked witch of the west~!

Now I will say another reason why this took so long is because unlike the last casting, this was the subject of much debate, including whether or not I decided to draw her with the trademark green skin—on one hand I wanted to stay true to the source, but on the other hand I still wanted it to recognizable as her. In the end I ended up coming up with a compromise of doing a green layer and making it translucent so it's like she's wearing makeup, and I think it works!

As for why I picked Yuna for this role in the first place, for starters they both have darker aesthetics that I thought would work really nicely, and for another thing i thought certain aspects of her personality—her calm-seeming demeanor (for the most part) and love she has for her sister being key traits they share! Of course it goes without saying that I'm basing this on the wicked musical version of Elphaba (specifically the movie because that's what inspired this series) as opposed to the wizard of oz version, cause Yuna isn't the cackling witch type XD

Plus I'm gonna be so real, I heard Cynthia Erivo's voice and I just thought it suited her! But that's all I'll say on that cause otherwise I'll start going into theater kid rambles- like I said before I imagine this to be an actor au as well so that does factor into this a bit!

As for the artistic process, I had a lot of fun with her hair oh my goodness- I had a bit of a debate with whether or not to include her braids, but I left her hair completely down for simplicity's sake and figured I might as well since I left Haruka's hair down as well (...and I couldn't figure them out with the hat look this only works if we're honest XD). I also stumbled across her facial expression by happy accident, and I was inspired by the original playbill art for the musical!

Fun little taisho secret, her outfit was specifically inspired by what she wore in No Good Deed, but the cape was inspired by the oh so iconic Defying Gravity! It definitely took a lot of troubleshooting but I hope it was worth it :D

Well, I hope you guys enjoy this installment! I decided to try out the poll feature, which means you guys get a say in what installment I do next! Totally optional, but I thought it could be fun!

For now, see ya!
