Hello hello and welcome to another drawing! This time I have something a little special, because not only did I feature Suzumi (again), but I'm also debuting the design of her mom—the Time Hashira, Michiyo Himemiya!
While Suzumi is very closed off around other people, she does share a close relationship with her mom, and I thought I'd show that here—I imagine this to be a bit of a flashback scene of sorts to when Suzumi first became a demon slayer and was adjusting to a lot of change in her life (including meeting a family member she hadn't heard of before) so while she was nervous, her mom was there to give her reassurance! ^-^
Now I'm gonna be so real with you guys, the artistic process for this one was kind of an endeavor (read: pain in the butt-). A lot of things, most notably including Suzumi's face and clothes, as well as Michiyo's face, took multiple attempts to get right- however despite the struggle, I'm still proud of how they turned out!! I kind of had the idea for Michiyo's haori design in my subconscious so it wasn't SUPER hard to bring to life, though fun fact the diamonds were a recent addition.
Also fun fact, the design was inspired by a scene in mugen train that in my opinion is straight up nightmare fuel (and no I will not hear objections from any enmu apologists you know who you are XD). At least I'm repurposing the nightmare fuel for a wholesome thing right?? XD
Honestly I was just in the mood for some sweet and wholesome after emotionally wrecking my new OC, and I've been inspired to work with Suzumi more these past few days, so this ended up being the final result!
And now, it's time for a taisho secret!
Once the position of time hashira is passed down to Suzumi, she plans to make Alice her first tsuguko, though this is really a taisho secret because she hasn't told anyone about this :)
