You know I didn't realize this at first but it's been a hot minute since I've drawn Tsukiyo even though she's a lot of fun for me to work with. Then, I came across a manga panel from Madoka Magica featuring Homura, and come on the inspiration wrote itself XD
So fun little fact in case I haven't already specified in her chapter (maybe I did and it's just been a while since I revisited it who knows), but she is known to get Hyperfocused (with a capital H) when she fights, and she basically gets tunnel-visioned for lack of a better term. In essence, I was trying to capture that, and I hope I succeeded :D (read: thank the ever loving stars that I am not a demon facing this)
With that said, the artistic process definitely had some trial and error with it, namely with her hair (read: I lost track of the number of attempts, I wanna say around 5??)- but honestly, I chalk that part up to being a little rusty, and I'm sure with some practice I'll get back into the swing of things! I also took a few tries on her cloak but that was just because I forgot how to physics lolz-
On the brighter side, I had a pretty easy time with her uniform and facial expression! It helps that I had the manga panel as a guide for the face of course and that it was relatively simple- I was debating doing one or two eyes but decided on one because a) it looks cooler and b) I couldn't get the other one to make sense and didn't wanna risk losing the effect.
Fun fact the feathers in the background were a bit of a last minute addition, but I think they compliment the drawing well :3
