I sat up as imarni was laying on my chest slowly drifting off to sleep so I lifted her up putting her under the sheets then i turned her tv off checking her one more time before closing the door leaving her to sleep so I could talk to Jeremiah. I returned back to jays room but they weren't there, i could hear them downstairs so I went to the top of the stairs calling him.
He came up and followed me into his room closing the door behind him.
Jeremiah : Where's Marni?
Me : Sleeping
Jeremiah : alright so are you back for good?
Me: I think so I just have one more thing to do
Jeremiah : what now?
he shouted as quiet as he could in frustration but also so no one else could hear what we were talking about.
Me : Don't do that because you know I gotta do this shit properly. I don't want nobody hunting me down
I responded back in the same tone praying imarni didn't wake up. I had to disappear for a few weeks because i got into drama with some guys and ended up getting myself shot, thankfully it wasn't too serious, I recovered quite quickly but I had to retaliate meaning i had to disappear for a while so they didn't find me. I stayed at a friends house a few hours away and then i went on holiday to clear my mind before coming back. Not a lot of people know what happened because i purposely didnt want certain people knowing including my mum, imarni and her mum. Even though i dont speak to my mum much, I know she's close with Imarni's mum.
Jeremiah : What are you going tell imarni this time when you have to go again?
I sat on his bed with my head in my hands. When it all happened, I practically had to beg Jeremiah not to tell her cause she warned me prior &i didn't want her to worry. When I came out of hospital I had to keep low I didn't wanna see imarni just in case someone sees her with me and tries to hurt her to get to me. I came back because I miss her... I miss them all and I wanna change but its hard to do that if I'm already in it, but Jeremiah doesn't understand.
Me: I ain't going nowhere you know I had no choice the first time. I've got myself another job, I'm not fucking up again.
Jeremiah : but if you don't stop it from now it will happen again
Me: it ain't that easy I'm trying sort my shit out.
Jeremiah : what are you gonna tell imarni this time?
he repeated the question knowing she was my weak spot
Me: I don't wanna think about that now, leave her out of it
Imarni : what?
my heart stopped as I slowly turned around to see imarni standing at the doorway.
Me: fuck...
I knew I should have waited to talk to him. Now imarni knows for sure that something is going on.
Imarni : Tyree what's going on?
I tried my hardest not to make eye contact cause she will hold me down &make me tell her everything from start to finish &thats just with her eyes.
Me: There isn't anything going on I was just dis-
Imarni : don't lie to me
Me: imarni...
Imarni : No don't imarni me. I asked you what's going on?
Me: nothing, don't worry about it
she kissed her teeth storming out the room. I looked back at Jeremiah for some help but nope instead he felt he should rub it in my face.
Jeremiah : I warned you, I told you already.
Me : you know what... fuck you, I told you not to bring up imarnis name in this
Jeremiah : whether I said her name or not she would've heard
Me: she wouldn't react the same though now I have to sort her out aswell as the shit I'm in
Imarnis P.O.V:
I put my shoes on quickly before leaving the house I needed some fresh air and to be away from Tyree. Romae stood watching me for the whole time without saying a word.
I zipped up my coat as I started walking down the street only to be stopped by Romae.
Romae : imarni wait
I continued walking but he still didn't take the hint. He grabbed my wrist but I somehow pulled myself out.
Romae: Oh so you're going to be like that?
I ignored him again but it still didn't stop him, So instead I stopped and turned around to face him.
Me: Romae what do you want?
Romae: I just want to know if you're alright?
Me: I'm fine.
I turned back ready to continue my journey to nowhere only to be swung back around by his angry face.
Romae: Why are you acting like this with me? What have i done to you?
Me: I want to be alone can't I have that?
Romae: if you want to be alone ill leave you alone but you don't have to act like that about it I was trying to be nice but you're acting like im bothering you
I didn't say anything so he started walking away I was going let him go but it didn't feel right so I speed walked in front of him placing my hands on his chest so he stopped allowing me to say my part.
Me: I'm sorry
I managed to squeak out, I'm still mad at Tyree but I didn't need to take it out on him.
Romae: Is this a joke?
Me: What?
Romae : Yesterday you were fine with me today you were fine with me until you kicked me out your room now I'm trying to help you and you're pushing me away, now I go away you're sorry?
Me: I know I sound stuck up &ungrateful but it aint like that I promise.
Romae : so what happened?
Me: It doesn't matter
Romae : just tell me?
Me: its nothing
Romae: its him isn't it what did he say or do?
Me: Its nothing he's said
Romae: what has he done then?
Me: nothing... its what he hasn't said
Romae : what?
He gave me a confused look I chuckled to myself continuing to walk with him beside me.
Me : Exactly you won't understand
Romae : if you tell me maybe I can help you
I put my arm around his as we started to walk together.
Me: he's keeping something from me, and I want to know what it is
Romae : is he your boy?
Me: My boyfriend?
Romae :Yes?
Me : no we're just friends
Romae : Oh okay, have you tried talking to him about it?
Me: I've asked him but he always says 'don't worry it's nothing'.
Thinking about it just got me mad all over again
Romae : but he might be keeping it from you for a good reason
Me: like what?
