Jamal: you have a date with who?
Me: Romeo.
Jamal: since when?
Me: he just asked me.
Jamal: no. I mean when the fuck did you two become more than friends?
Me: we're not. We're just going to have a friendly date.
He raised his eyebrows at me picking up some of my dress selections.
Jamal: well you don't need these dresses.
Me: what?
Jamal: this one shows too much breast, this one is too short and this split goes way too high.
Me: Jamal, I didn't ask for your advice I'm afraid.
Jamal: I'm serious. You can't be wearing those.
Me: it's my decision to make not yours.
Jamal: Vanessa.
I rolled my eyes as he shouted for Vanessa to come into my room.
Vanessa: what's up?
Me: Jamal is being a dickhead.
Jamal: did you know that Imarni is going on a date with your brother?
Vanessa: so what?
Me: exactly. He's being so extra.
Jamal: no fuck that. You can't do that.
Vanessa: Jamal. Romeo is a very territorial person, if he wanted Imarni to be more than friends the whole world would know and he definitely would've let me know. You need to chill out.
Me: and so what if he did. Last time I checked I'm single.
He raised his eyebrow at me again. But it's the truth right?
Vanessa: you two need to just have sex and get over it. I'm tired of this.
I rolled my eyes as she walked out leaving me with Jamal again.
Me: are you done making a big deal out of everything now?
Jamal: don't do that Imarni.
Me: what?
Jamal: you know I still love you. Don't act like you wouldn't feel a way if I told you I'm going on a date tomorrow.
Me: no I wouldn't.
Jamal: alright kool.
I started singing to myself trying to act un bothered as he walked towards the door. But instead of walking out he closed it locking it then came over to me hugging me until I lost balance falling on the bed laughing my head off.
Jamal: don't act like I'm crazy Imarni. I know when you're bullshitting.
Me: stop.
I screamed since I couldn't get his arms from around me.
Jamal: make sure you tell me if he tries to make a move.
Me: Jamal. Romeo is my friend you need to go away with your jealousy.
Jamal: all jokes aside. I know me and you are just friends right now but don't hurt me like that.
I bit onto my lip again as the conversation started to get serious.
Me: why are you doing this? For the past few weeks we've been fine.
Jamal: I know that. I just want to make it clear.
Me: I'm not getting with anybody. I told you this already. You have nothing to worry about.
Jamal: I'm just making sure.

Valentine's Day:
Jamal hasn't came out of his room since I told him that romeo was on his way. Which might be for the better considering how he reacted when he found out I'm going on a date with him.
Romeo: Vanessa come and take pictures of me and Marni please.
Vanessa: be quick because I need to get ready for my date.
Romeo: date with who?
Vanessa: some guy I met.
Romeo: let me see his Instagram?
Vanessa: no because I don't want you to pass judgement on him before you meet him.
Romeo: fine, I wanna meet him before you take it any further.
She rolled her eyes as me and Romeo posed for some pictures for about 30 minutes until we all had enough.
Me: I'm going to get my phone then I'll come.
Romeo: alright I'll meet you in the car. Vanessa, enjoy your date and call me if you need anything.
I went back to my room to get my phone since it was in charge. I almost caught a heart attack as Jamal stood at the door clearing his throat.
Me: what the fuck? You scared the shit out of me.
Jamal: isn't that the dress I said not to wear because the split is too high?
Me: Jamal you have no control over what I can and can't wear unfortunately for you.
Jamal: you look good.
I nodded smiling trying to walk out the door but failed since he blocked my way. He pulled me by my waist so I was stood Infront of him.
Me: I need to go.
Jamal: I know. Let me talk to you for a minute.
Me: I can't, I'll see you when I'm back alright?
I started to get impatient as he just stood staring into my face whilst still squeezing his hands into my waist.
Me: Jamal, please let go of me I need t-
I was caught off guard as he kissed me, shutting me up completely. I kissed him back for a few seconds and then pushed him off.
Me: what the fuck?
Jamal: my bad.
Me: your bad? This morning you was talking about me breaking your heart by being together and now you're kissing me?
Jamal: I couldn't help myself. I'm sorry.
Me: whatever Jamal.
I walked around him going out to Romeo's car.

Me and Romeo were finally at the restaurant eating our main course.
Romeo: what's up with you Marni?
Me: nothing I'm fine.
Romeo: you've been quiet since you got into my car.
Me: it's nothing. Just Jamal pissing me off.
Romeo: talk to me about it?
Me: na I don't want to burden you with my drama.
Romeo: that's what I'm here for and trust me, when I start getting into relationships I'll be ranting to you too.
Me: fine. Me and tyree stopped speaking about a month ago because we had a massive arguement and we've just avoided each other since. Jamal knows this, and we both agreed we were just going to be friends because it's too much drama going on and it's too much of a distraction from our uni stuff. Yesterday he bugged out because I told him I was going on a date with you even though he knows me and you are just friends but he still tried to tell me not to go and what to wear.
Romeo: this guy sounds obsessed, just how you like it.
I screwed him continuing with my rant.
Me: earlier when I went to go get my phone he came into my room and kissed me even after he was trying to say I broke his heart this morning.
Romeo: and how do you feel about that?
Me: I'm pissed off because why the fuck would you do that when we're just friends.
Romeo: but did you kiss him back?
