I woke up the next day feeling so drained. It was now Tuesday and me and Jamal were making our way to our lesson with demari. All I need right now is some sleep.
Jamal: do you wanna go back to the apartment after this lesson?
I nodded putting my fingers through his since his arm was across my shoulder.
Jamal: how was your meal yesterday?
Me: it was good. We had a nice time.
Jamal: good.
I didn't come back until late this morning because romae was supposed to drive me here after the meal but he went with my brother to go searching for Tyree because once again he disappeared after our argument. I honestly couldn't care less any more. He played a part in all of this too so I don't understand why he's acting like the victim all of a sudden.
Jamal: what's on your mind?
Me: nothing.
Jamal: you have the worst screw face on right now baby.
Me: sorry I didn't realise.
Demari: can you guys let me have a free house later on today?
Me: why?
Demari: my friends coming over.
Me: why don't you just say you have your booty call coming over?
Demari: because she's not. I just wanna fuck once to see how it is. I don't know if she's booty call material.
Me: you're so disgusting.
Jamal: what time is she coming?
Demari: about 8 tonight.
Me: I'll stay in my room then.
Jamal: kool same.
Demari: thanks both.
Me: keep playing with these girls and you'll end up with a std before you know it.
Demari: jamals been around more than me.
Jamal: bro don't do that.
I gave him the side eye as we walked into our lecture.
Me: have you?
He shook his head screwing demari telling me one of them is lying and it might just be Jamal.
Me: be honest with me.
Jamal: imarni. I don't do that anymore.
Me: so you did?
Jamal: it's the past.
Me: have you been with anybody at this uni?
I looked at demari rolling my eyes as he started choking on thin air. Jamal just sat staring to the front of the room.
Me: Jamal?
Jamal: can we not do this right now?
Me: so you have?
Demari: imarni I was joking.
Me: no don't try and stick up for your friend now that you've let out his secret. I wanna know.
Demari: chill out.
I looked at Jamal since he sat in the chair next to me sulking.
Me: fine. We can talk about this later.

Jamal: this is some bullshit. I don't want to be working with someone for the next 3 months.
I rolled my eyes walking with Jamal back to our apartment. Our lecturer allocated us all partners for the next 3 months to complete our next assignment and Jamal hated it. He was paired with a girl called Rhiannon and I was paired with a guy called Marcus but of course he didn't even show up to lesson today I can tell exactly how this is going to go.
Me: I think it's a good thing we get to meet more new people.
Jamal: I don't wanna meet anybody else. I just want to do my work and go home.
I laughed letting go of his arm as we walked back into our apartment.
Me: speaking of getting to know people. You have something to tell me.
Jamal: what?
Me: how many?
Jamal: imarni why are you asking me this?
Me: because I wanna know. How many girls in this uni have you slept with?
Jamal: I don't know.
Me: how can you not know?
Jamal: I just don't.
Me: I know you're lying. Just tell me the truth.
Jamal: you're not going to like the truth.
Me: fine.
I rolled my eyes at him once again going into my room closing the door. The last thing I'm going to do is get into a relationship with somebody who's slept with a bunch of females that I will be seeing on a regular basis. I sighed out taking the necklace off calling my mum to pass time.
Me: hi mum how are you?
Mum: I'm doing okay. Did you get enough sleep to get to uni this morning?
Me: no but I'll survive. I just came out of my lesson so I'll take a nap soon.
Mum: hows everything else going?
Me: good. Just trying to focus on doing my assignments.
Mum: good.
Me: why what's up?
From the tone of her voice I could tell she was stressing about something.
Mum: I overheard Ty talking about why he left the meal early last night.
Me: what did he say?
Mum: something about a necklace?
Me: mum it's nothing for you to worry about.
Mum: he still doesn't sound very happy about it so there must be something wrong.
Me: it's nothing.
Mum: so if I go and ask him he'll say nothings wrong too?
Me: you don't need to speak to him about it.
Mum: then tell me what's going on.
Me: we broke up a couple of weeks ago.
Mum: are you not planning on working it out?
Me: it's too late for that.
Mum: have you found somebody else?
Me: no mummy. I just don't need the extra stress. Tyree just needs to calm down and stop trying to get at me all the time then maybe we can talk normally again without arguing.
Mum: next time you come here we can all talk.
Me: no because that's just going to make it worse. I'd rather wait until he calms down and comes to talk to me.
Mum: fine I'll talk to him myself.
Me: please don't, he's going to act like the victim.
Mum: expect a call from him.
Me: why are you doing this?
Mum: because I love Tyree like my own I can't see him like this everyday and not do anything about it.
