I cleared my throat looking away from her since she pushed my chest back stopping our kiss.
Imarni : I told you we can't do this.
Me: you can trust me.
Imarni : Tyree, please let it go. I'm done arguing with you about this.
I sat back biting my jaw. I hated how it's so easy for her to brush me aside when she knows she's the only person I want and need.
Jeremiah: are you lot gonna help or what?
After taking up imarnis suitcase I made my way into the apartment to see some guy also bringing his things inside. I stood staring at him for a while until he eventually saw me and stopped.
?: who are you?
Me: what's your name?
? : Demari
Me: kool, I need to speak to you in a second
He chuckled shaking his head.
Demari : you're marnis boy right?
I ignored him as Imarni came running in screaming then jumped into his arms.
Me : have you brought all your things in?
Imarni : no why?
Me : not you
They both looked at me confused.
Demari: na there's a couple more things in my car.
Me: come let me help you.
He lead the way so I followed until Imarni pulled my arm calling my name.
Me: what?
Imarni : what are you playing at?
Me: this has nothing to do with you.
Imarni : do I look stupid to you?
I brushed her off making my way outside.
Demari : what's good?
Me: where's your roommates?
Demari : not here yet why?
Me: when are they coming?
Demari : you ain't gotta be concerned about your girl you know that right?
Me: I'm not.
Demari: so what's good, why are you questioning me?
Me: I wanna know who Jamal is.
Demari : he's my boy why?
Me: when's he coming?
Demari : he ain't coming today. How do you know about him?
Me: let him know I said don't try it.
Demari : try what? I'm not understanding.
Me : you gave him marnis number so don't act like you don't know what's going on.
He chuckled shaking his head.
Demari : I told him she's taken.
Me: maybe you didn't make it clear enough.
Demari : don't worry I'll speak to him when he comes.
Me: good. Better you than me.

IMARNIS POV:
It's been about a hour since tyree and jeremiah left so me and Demari were just chilling since we were waiting for one more person to come.
Me: what did Tyree say to you?
Demari : nothing don't worry
Me : are you serious?
Demari : it's kool Marni you don't need to worry.
Me: I have the right to know
Demari : he was just helping me bring my things in.
Me : and you expect me to believe that?
Demari : trust me, it's nothing you need to know about.
Me: fine. Forget you. When's everybody else coming?
Demari: jada said she's 20 minutes away and you should know where Jamal is.
Me: why would I know? He's your friend.
Demari : don't you two speak?
Me: I only spoke to him a little that one time we met.
He looked at me confused then laughed turning away.
Me: what is it?
As if on queue the front door opened.

NEXT EVENING :
I ran into my room jumping on my bed as I answered the phone to Tyree.
Me: Hi Ty
Tyree : I miss you.
I closed my eyes as the line went silent. I could tell he's in his feelings right now by his tone of voice.
Me: have you been drinking?
Tyree: not a lot.
Me: what's the special occasion?
Tyree : does there need to be one?
Me: you know you say and do things you shouldn't when you drink in your feelings
Tyree: I'm sober.
Me: you're not I can hear it in your voice.
Tyree: come and stop me then
Me: you know I can't do that.
Tyree: then let me be. I called you because I miss you. I wanna hear your voice.
We spoke for about 10/15 minutes until someone knocked my door.
Tyree: who's that?
Me: I don't know. Hold on.
I put my phone on the dresser opening the door to see Jamal.
Jamal : are you not getting ready?
Me: for what?
Jamal : we're going out tonight
Me: oh. I think I'm gonna just chill at home tonight.
Jamal : it's the last night before we start work though.
Me: exactly we both have a lecture at 9 am.
Jamal : come on beautiful don't do me like this. At least come for an hour or two.
Me: no cause then I gotta come back early by myself.
Jamal : if no one else wants to come back with you I promise you I will
I rolled my eyes since he was not letting me off.
Me: fine but you gotta come back with me.
Jamal : you have my word.
He winked at me walking away so I got back on my bed taking my phone back up.
Me: you still there?
Tyree: yeah. You going out?
Me: yeah. Just for a couple hours.
Tyree: didn't seem like you wanna go.
Me: I don't but Jamal convinced me.
Tyree: Jamal?
Me : yeah he's one of my room mates. He came this morning, seems nice.
I heard him chuckle on the other end of the phone.
Me: what was you saying to Demari yesterday?
Tyree: why? What did he say?
Me: nothing, I just wanna know.
Tyree: don't worry baby girl. We're cool.
Me: I told you me and Demari are only friends.
Tyree: I know. I'm not worried about him.
Me: good.
I smiled in satisfaction.
DEMARIS POV:
I raised my eyebrow as Jamal walked into the front room grinning.
Me : what's good with you?
Jamal: just went to check if marnis coming out with us.
Me: she said she's not
Jamal: she is now. I got skills
Me: I told you you're playing with fire, she's with someone
Jamal: he ain't here is he?
Me: he was here yesterday, asking for you.
Jamal: how does he know me?
Me: you texted her innit?
Jamal: she didn't reply
Me : he saw it though. I don't think marni knows.
Imarni : you don't think I know what?
Me: don't worry.
Jada: your boyfriend doesn't like Jamal
Imarni: first of all I'm single and secondly Tyree doesn't know Jamal
Jamal: you're single?
Imarni: and happy
Jamal: I can make you happier
Imarni: no thanks
Me : I told you you're playing with fire Jamal.
Jamal: what's he gonna do?
Me: that's his girl.
Imarni : I'm not anybodies girl.
Me: that's not what he thinks.
Imarni: whatever Demari.
