Me: can I talk to you for a minute?
Jamal looked up at me from his laptop nodding so I sat on his chair as he sat in his bed.
Me: I'm sorry for how I've been acting lately. I was hurt by what I saw but I know you're single so I should've taken that into consideration. I was acting like I've never did wrong in my life, making myself a hypocrite. I just wanted to let you know that I'm done being childish and you should feel free to do whatever you choose without feeling like I'll hate you for it.
I smiled standing up to walk out since I finally feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest.
Jamal: wait.
I turned back around sighing out.
Jamal: I know what I did was wrong and you had every right to be mad at me for it. I just hated that it was so easy for you to cut me off completely as if it made no difference to your life. I fucking love you Imarni and you made me feel like nothing to you over one mistake.
Me: and I said I'm sorry about that but you can't act like you didn't do what you did with the sole intention of hurting my feelings.
Jamal: straight away I admitted I fucked up and I regret it 100%.
Me: and I respect that but I can't act like it didn't happen. I forgive you but I definitely can't forget.

Tyree: why have you been ignoring me?
Me: hello to you too Ty.
Tyree: Imarni.
I bit my lip as he screwed me through facetime. I knew from the moment I answered his call that he was going to be annoyed at me because I haven't responded to him since I was out with Taylor yesterday.
Me: I'm sorry.
Tyree: you ignored the shit out of me randomly, for no reason.
Me: I was tired, I just wanted to get back to uni.
Tyree: so why didn't you tell me that? You know I was happy to drop you back.
Me: it's fine. I made my own way.
Tyree: what's going on?
Me: nothing.
Tyree: I know something's wrong because Taylor ignored my call yesterday too.
Me: Ty I said nothing is wrong.
Tyree: kool. Just know I can't fix what I don't know.
Me: there's nothing to fix.
Tyree: why didn't you come back home then?
Me: I told you I wanted to come back to uni.
Tyree: you're lying.
Me: did you call me just to argue with me because I just finished my lecture and I need to get ready for work?
Tyree: do you want me to get mad?
I sighed out taking my work clothes out to put on.
Me: fine, what do you want to know?
Tyree: why have you been ignoring me?
Me: because I feel like my actions and my words aren't matching up.
Tyree: what does that mean?
Me: I'm telling you we should just be friends and then kissing you, cuddling you and having sex with you. That's not what friends do.
Tyree: I don't mind.
Me: no Ty. It needs to match up.
Tyree: so you're distancing yourself from me?
Me: yes.
Tyree: and you thought I was just going to sit back and let you ignore me?
Me: no but I just didn't know what else to do.
Tyree: how about we discuss this properly, face to face.
Me: that's not going to happen because everytime we see each other we end up doing something we shouldn't.
Tyree: doesn't that say enough? We can't be just friends.
Me: we need to be.
Tyree: why?
Me: because I said so.
Tyree: Imarni you're not making any sense right now. I was celibate and working on myself, you broke that by pressuring me to have sex and now you want to push me away again?
Me: I'm sorry.
Tyree: sorry isn't good enough.
I sighed out as he hung up on me. He was right in what he said before, everytime I come back to uni we always end up arguing. I know I may seem selfish right now but I believe what Corey said is right. If we stay just friends for a month and I'm okay with it then I know I'm making the right decision.

Romeo: I saw you on his Instagram story last night.
I started laughing as he rolled his eyes pretending to be hurt.
Me: you're so extra. I asked him to get some dessert with me.
Romeo: where was my invite?
Me: I bothered you last time with my issues it was Corey's turn.
Romeo: I'm just playing with you. You two suit well.
Me: we're just friends. And he respects that.
Romeo: I'm just saying. He's better than your last two boyfriends.
I rolled my eyes taking the coffee that he made for me.
Me: thank you.
Romeo: what's you're plans for the rest of the night?
Me: well I finally finished work so I need to go home and catch up on some uni work.
Romeo: you need to take a break.
Me: I relaxed all weekend so I need to get some work done.
Romeo: have you resolved your issues out with Jamal?
Me: yeah. We're cordial with each other now.
Romeo: good. I could feel the tension between you two when I came the other day.
Me: yeah, our lease is ending soon so I think it's best if I move out.
Romeo: and you think demaris going to be okay with that?
Me: no I'm scared to tell him and I don't even have another place to go.
Romeo: Corey's moving into a bigger place on campus, you and Vanessa should see if you can move in with him.
Me: na. I've only just met Corey.
Romeo: trust me, he's kool.
Me: i know but I don't know if it would be a good idea.
Romeo: because of Tyree?
Me: kinda.
Romeo: you can't keep pushing people away because of him Marni. You said you're just friends with Corey so why is Tyree controlling your life like this?
Me: I just don't want the drama.
Romeo: if you're just friends with Corey like you say you are then you have nothing to worry about.
Me: true, I'll think about it.
