I looked up at him confused until he sighed out shaking his head.

Before I could stop him he walked off so I followed not too far behind until we got to our lecture.
Demari: is everything okay?
I nodded looking at Jamal who wasn't saying a word. Is he for real?
Demari: after this let's go and try out the restaurant down the road.
I nodded since I knew he just wanted to know what was going on.

Jamal didn't even flinch or take interest in the conversation he just looked straight ahead listening to the tutor which to be honest we all should be doing.

We were now all out together since all of our lectures for the day were over.
Me: so what's everyone's plans for tonight?
Jada: I'm going to see my boo.
Demari: me and Jamal have links to go to, sorry marni you're on your own.
Jamal: I think I'm gonna cancel mine.

After coming out of the shower and putting my pyjama shorts and vest on I knocked on Jamal's door since we were the only ones in the house.
Me: let's watch a movie?
He grinned at me nodding then let me in his room.
Me: wow Jamal it's actually clean in here.

He laughed as we got under his sheets.

Jamal: all I want to watch is suits but it's not a movie

Me and Jamal sat on his bed watching suits. We were on the third episode when my phone started to ring.
Me: pause it please I'll be back.
I jumped up going into the front room to answer my phone since it was Tyree.
Me: hi
Tyree: evening baby, are you okay?
Me: yeah, what have you been doing?
Tyree: I'm not going to lie marni I just woke up.
Me: are you serious? It's almost 8pm
Tyree: I know baby as soon as I left yours and got home I went straight to bed. What are you doing anyway?
Me: just Netflix and chilling

Me: well everyone's gone out except me and Jamal.
The line went dead silent for a while then I heard him sigh out.
Tyree: really marni?
Me: you have nothing to worry about.
Tyree: promise?
Me: you told me to trust you so you need to trust me.
Tyree: I do. I just don't trust him.
Me: it's nothing.
Tyree: you didn't promise me.
Me: I promise.
Jamal: marni?
I spun around looking at his sad face.
Me: I'm coming.
Jamal: I'm going to press play.
Me: no, wait for me please.
Tyree: you're busy?
Me: baby I'll text you.
Tyree: wait. I wanna see you this weekend.
Me: okay. I'll come down after my lecture on Friday.
Tyree: good. Make sure you text me.
I hung up running behind Jamal just to make sure he wasn't watching it without me.
Jamal: I think you should turn your phone off.
I gave him the side eye.
Me: you know I can't do that.
Jamal: it's disrespectful what you're doing.
Me: are you serious right now?
Jamal: I know you heard what I told you earlier on today.
Me: okay let's talk about it.
Jamal: turn your phone off then we can talk.
