IMARNIS POV:
Stephen: imarni, what are you doing here? Isn't it your day off?
Me: yeah... Is Jamal here?
Stephen: no, he called in sick this morning.
Me: oh okay.
Stephen: why what's up?
Me: nothing I just wanted to talk to him.
Stephen: don't you guys live together?
Me: yeah I just thought he would be here. Never mind I'll see you tomorrow.
I smiled speed walking out and around the corner until I bumped into somebody knocking their Costa coffee cup out of their hand.
Me: shit, I'm so sorry.
We both looked up at each other confused.
Romeo: imarni... what are you doing here?
Me: I go to the uni not far from here, you?
Romeo: I live here.
Me: since when?
Romeo: around the time we stopped talking me and Vanessa moved in with my aunt and uncle.
I slowly nodded as we stood awkwardly.
Me: let me buy you another drink since I knocked the other one on the floor.
Romeo: no it's fine. I actually work at Costa so I can pretty much get drinks whenever I want and it was almost empty anyway.
Me: oh right okay.
Romeo: where were you rushing to?
Me: nowhere I'm just going home.
Romeo: do you live on campus?
Me: yeah. About a 5 minute walk.
Once again it fell into an awkward silence. I felt like we were both holding back on saying things I'm just not too sure what it is.
Romeo: I just want to apologise for the last time we spoke, I was having a bad day and I guess I took it out on you.
Me: it's fine. I get that I was giving you the wrong message.
Romeo: yeah. I didn't mean to spaz out on you.
Me: I understand. I was just hoping it didn't affect our friendship but then you disappeared on me so I didn't know where I stood with you.
Romeo: the decision to move was last minute, I didn't have much time to say goodbyes plus I was still mad at you.
Me: it was a good decision though right because you look like you're doing good?
Romeo: you too. I guess tyrees making you happy still.
Me: right...
Romeo: or maybe not?
Me: it's a long story.
Romeo: it's kool, I understand.
Me: It's nice seeing you anyway.
Romeo: you too, hopefully I'll see you around?
I nodded hugging him while walking away. For some reason I felt nervous speaking to him, maybe it's because of everything that happened between us and I know if Tyree found out he would go crazy again. But now I need to focus my mind on speaking to Jamal...

**
As soon as I walked into the apartment my heart rate increased because I could see Jamal laying on the sofa sleeping, he somehow still has a screw face on even in his sleep.
Me: Jamal?
He didn't budge so I put my bags down going closer to him only just realising his bust lip. I pulled his chin down so I could get a closer look since he was still sleeping.
Jamal: what are you do-... Imarni?
I froze as he sat up staring back at me. I don't know what to say or do and I don't think he does either because we're just staring at each other. I eventually had enough and took up my bag to go to my room until he grabbed my arm.
Jamal: wait... Hear me out first.
I slowly nodded I was hoping he started the conversation.
Jamal: I didn't tell you the real number because I didn't want to put you off me. I know I fucked around alot over the past year but I promise you, you have nothing to worry about.
Me: if I have nothing to worry about why can't you just tell me the truth?
Jamal: because I know it's going to affect the way you look at me whether you want to admit it or not.
Me: so you'd rather I walk around seeing girls that you've messed around with and not even know while they sit there laughing at me behind my back?
Jamal: baby, I would never let anybody laugh at you and you know that.
Me: no don't 'baby' me. Why didn't you tell me about rihannon?
Jamal: I swear I was going to. I just needed the right time.
Me: you had plenty of time.
Jamal: Rhiannon was someone I messed around with in college we didn't get proper closure because she thought it was more than what it was. So when I saw her again in class I realised she still feels a way about me so I wanted to clear that up before I told you so you didn't think it was more than what it is because it's not.
Me: so why didn't you tell me that the other day in your room?
Jamal: imarni you woke me up by throwing things at me then you started shouting random shit I didn't even know what was going on.
Me: you should've told me sooner.
Jamal: I'm sorry for keeping you in the dark about it.
Me: okay.
Jamal: do you forgive me?
Me: I don't know.
Jamal: what can I do to fix it?
Me: tell me the truth?
Jamal: I can't.
Me: kool.
I heard him sighing out as I walked back to my room closing the door. I feel like I need a nap to get my mind right to make the right decision.
