116: Another Nightmare

Normal P.O.V

The sun had set and the sky was covered with stars again. Gray and Gems were in shock as they could see Natsu battling a dragon on his own.

While Gray was running with Gems on his back, they were surrounded from all the directions possible, by soldiers. Soldiers that looked a lot different than the royal army soldiers. Theywere covered in black armor from head to toe.

“What are these guys? Soldiers?” Gray asked as Gems got back on the ground. They stood with their backs against each other.

“I did some research of my own on Zash before coming here, these are his Quantum Soldiers. They are fourth-generation dragon slayers.” Gems said and Gray was getting nervous.

“Fourth generation!?” Gray gasped. 

“They're artificial soldiers created using dragon slayer lacrimas.” Gems answered as he got ready fight.

“There are so many.”

“Wind Shield!” Gems immediately pulled his shield out when one of them attacked.

“Gems!” Gray gasped.

“And they're so powerful.” Gems said getting closer to Gray. Gray and Gems looked at each other and they started fighting off the soldiers.

“Ice Geyser!” “Wind Fury!”

“Ice Make: Cannon!” “Wind Bazooka!”

“Hailstorm!”

Gray and Gems were able to wipe them all out with their unison moves, but they just got back up and started fighting again. All this was happening and along with that the sky was covered with magic circles, which soon turned red and started launching magic right on the ground.

Gray froze those soldiers and picked Gems again and made a run towards safety. They took cover and prayed for everyone else's safety.

They could hear the loud explosions of Natsu's fight with the dragon. And when those calmed down, the magic circles from the sky disappeared and the soldiers fell on the ground as if they had went powerless.

Gray and Gems looked at each other and smiled knowing that Natsu had beat the main boss.

When they all met up, Wendy healed everyone's injuries and got them back to normal. Lucy told that the dragon cry staff turned into a ribbon and flew into the sky.

Their mission was concluded.

- Mini time skip -

“Gemsieeeee.” Gray said calling for Gems to come to the bed and lay down besides him. Gems was watching the moon from their bedroom window.

Gems turned around and Gray was calling him, under the comforter. A smile crept on his face.

Gems closed the curtains and slided into their bed, right into Gray's arms. The weather was cold outside and Gems appreciated the warmth. “You're so warm.” Gems mumbled snuggling closer to Gray.

“Should I remove my t-shirt? It'll be warmer.” Gray winked. Gems rolled his eyes and smacked him on his head.

“No. Just hold me.” Gems replied. “Do you think my name will be on the list?” Gems asked out of the blue.

Gray sighed.

“I don't know honestly, but if I was making the list then you're name would definitely be there, on top.” Gems didn't reply, he was fiddling with Gray's sword pendant while Gray was answering to him. “But why are you so concerned? Do you wanna participate?” Gray asked.
