"Zoro, I have something to say."

"What is it?"

Haruki snickered at him, showing him her cheshire cat smile, low-key teasing him.

"If you will give me a correct answer of how many stars are there right now, I will immediately marry you."

"Counting the stars.....?" Zoro wondered and looked at the sky.

The sky was as clear as crystal-blue water, stretching endlessly above. Wispy clouds slow-danced across the heavens, swaying gently to the rhythm of the breeze, as if the wind itself played a melody only they could hear. The weather was perfect.

Almost too perfect.

Haruki, who was bored, thought of an idea. It was a weird way to kill her boredom and Zoro was the perfect target for it. Just the perfect target for her flawless thought.

"This woman....."

Zoro looked at Haruki, utterly stunned, yet unmistakably full of love. Her words hit him like a sharp, unexpected gust of wind, so powerful, honest, and vulnerable all at once. He hadn't expected her to say that.....not now, not like this.

How could she confess something so profound out of nowhere? In the middle of everything?

If she had said those words in a different place, at a different time, maybe under a starlit sky, or while they shared a quiet drink after battle.....Zoro wouldn't have wasted a second.

He wouldn't have answered her.

He would immediately dropped to one knee, right then and there, and asked for her hand in marriage.

No speeches. No hesitation.

Just one firm vow, sealed with the blade of his conviction.

But right now.....all he could do was stare at her, his heart heavy with everything unsaid, everything too fragile to speak.
