"You thought of Malfoy, didn't you?"
It had been three days. Today was the first day of school. God, I do not want to see Umbridge again..
"Y/n!" I heard Pansy say as she hugged me, "Oh, I've missed you!" I groaned, hugging her back.Behind her I saw Draco and Theo walking together. "Draco tells me you and Theo have been.. well.. going full on dementor mode on eachothers faces?" I ask her to which she laughs, hitting me playfully. "God, you are so weird." She laughs lightly as I do too.
"Did you miss me, Princess?" I hear the familiar voice from behind me as I quickly turn around to hug him. "Hello to you too, Draco." I roll my eyes playfully. I get on my tiptoes to give him a quick kiss before Umbridge could see us— but, well, somebody else did.
"How were the holidays, Y/n?" Daphne asks, a scowl on her face. "Alright. Yours?" I ask awkwardly. "Must've been fantastic since all you did was annoy us, wasn't it, Greengrass?" Enzo asked, I didn't realise he'd been here.
Daphne glared at Enzo before shoving past him and walking into the castle. "What did I say?" He asks sarcastically. Draco shrugs. "She can't take a joke, really." He says as the two laugh lightly. At least they'd made up.

The Slytherin Common room was full of students murmuring about the 10 recent escapes from Azkaban. Of course Cornelius was trying to pin it into Sirius.
I snatched one of the newspapers from a first year, flipping through the pages.
I recognised this one. She was on the family tree. Bellatrix."Uhm.. Y/n?" I heard a voice. I turned my head to see who it was. Hannah and Sallow. "We wanted to apologise.." Hannah said. "Even dad says the things in the Daily Prophet don't add up anymore.." sallow said next, "what exactly do you want?" I asked. "Just to say that we believe you." He said. I stared at the two for a moment before nodding.
I handed the first year his newspaper back and made my way out the Common Room. I think it was almost time for the next training lesson in the room of requirement.

"Make it a powerful memory, the happiest you can remember." Harry's voice rang through the room.
New spell of the month; the patronus charm. The same charm that saved us two years ago.I closed my eyes thinking of the first time I came to Hogwarts. "Expecto Patronum." I said with a whish of my wand. "Stronger, Y/n." Harry said before walking away. "Why don't you think of times with your little Malfoy boyfriend?" Fred snickered. I rolled my eyes.
"I'm going to hex you, Fred." I warned as he put his hands up in surrender.
He wasn't wrong, perhaps I should try that..I closed my eyes again, thinking of the first time we kissed. "Expecto Patronum." I said again— and deer jumped out. The students clapped for me as my deer hopped around the room. "Excellent, Y/n!" Harry smiled.
"You thought of Malfoy, didn't you?" George asked me. I rolled my eyes trying to hide my smile.Just then, the chandeliers began to shake, the lights flickered, there was banging on the glass door before burst open. Beyond the door, stood Umbridge and the whole inquisitors squad. Oh, she's going to kill me for lying to her.
Draco soon came into the frame, holding Cho. His eyes scanned over the room before landing on me. His grin dropped. I looked down at my feet.Fuck, why did I hide it from him?
Umbridge took Harry and Cho someplace else while she made us wait in the Great Hall, the other inquisitors guarding us. I felt Draco's glare on me the entire time.
About half an hour later, Umbridge walked in. "Ah. The lovely Inquisitor. I didn't know that you were part of this." She scowled. I could feel everyone's eyes on me. "How pathetic, a traitor to both sides, Ms. Potter. I suppose the Daily Prophet doesn't lie when it comes to calling you a liar, does it?" I let out a silent sigh, accepting my embarrassing fate.
"I have different plans with you. Mr. Malfoy. Take her to my office— I'll be right up with you." Great, this was torture. Worse than something being engraved on my hand.
I followed Draco in silence. He was definitely walking at a faster pace to make run behind him. I walked into her pink office— I'll never get over this, god.
Draco sat on one of the couches, still glaring at me.I sighed, "I'm sorry, Draco. I know I should've told you but—" he cut me off, "but what?" I fell into silence upon hearing his harsh tone.
He got up from his seat, walking closer to me.
I took a step back, hitting the wall and almost dropping the cat plates. He'd practically towered over me at this point.Suddenly, the door opened and I pushed Draco away— it was clear he wasn't going to move on his own. Umbridge stared at the two of us for a moment before sitting at her desk. I sat infront of her, the quill in my hand.
I sighed, "what do I write?" I asked her. "Perhaps Mr. Malfoy can answer that for you. Seeing how close you two are now." She grinned evilly. I swallowed hard turning my head towards Draco who was still glaring at me. What was I supposed to do to get his forgiveness now?
I waited for a moment, Draco said nothing. I was happy he didn't want me to be punished. "I don't know, Professor. It's best if you do it." He muttered. "Very well. Write 'I am a liar'.. five times." I glared at the woman. "You never said times before." I said. "I did now. You will not stop until you have written that five time, Ms. Potter." I clenched my jaw, gripping the quill as I began to write.
I could already feel burn on my skin and I wasn't even half way done with the first line. I fisted my left hand tightly as the words faded in.
By the third line, my skin had given up. I could feel my hand begin to tremble and tears form in my eyes. "I can't anymore." I muttered, setting the quill down. "Hm." She hummed. "You are dismissed, both of you." She smiled up at me as I made my way out.
I fastened my pace towards the Common room, not looking back for Draco. Although, I could feel his footsteps behind me.
