Something felt... different.

The atmosphere in my home had a sweet aroma lingering. I sniffed the air again. Orange wasn't baking anything; he was in the living room with his brothers—well, all except Blue—again.

Ugh. That boy is becoming more rebellious than usual. He reminded me of myself in my youth. A little too much, I'm afraid. Especially ever since he met... him – Goth Boy. A teenage goth has coerced my innocent Baby Blue! I bet my whiskers my son is with him at this very moment. Why couldn't Blue be more like his brothers? He goes off doing who knows what. His attitude shifted since meeting with Goth Boy.

The four of us (minus Blue) were watching another movie by Lou Jitsu called Kung Fu Pit: Dive Jitsu Dip. It is one of the most underrated pieces that Lou Jitsu starred in. The movie was almost canceled because of the near-death situation. I mentally chuckled at the first time I showed the boys. They were too excited, but I almost had a heart attack seeing the boys imitating the skydive techniques. At their age now, they know all the movies by heart, every line and every scene.

I checked the rest of my boys. Since they had already seen this movie, they did their own activity. Part of me didn't mind; they already knew the movie's layout inside and out. The other part felt conflicted; this was a family movie night. The least they could do was pay attention—or, at the very least, have all of them present!

Red sat on a bean bag chair far to my right. He was texting, grinning from cheek to cheek whenever he saw a new message. Who was he texting? It cannot be April. Red's smile was genuine—no, not just genuine; it was soft. His eyes filled with warmth, an emotion I was once familiar with. Love? At his age? With whom? When was I when this occurred?

I glanced at Purple, who sat cross-legged next to his older brother, tapping his wrist. Ah, yes. Purple created a touchscreen wristband thingy. Purple multitasked between his wrist and his tablet. His focus was intense. What could he possibly focus on? I managed to see footage of a... room. It's a room I'm not familiar with. Was he... spying on someone? Were they a threat? I made a mental note to speak to Purple. someone entered: a young teenage girl with glasses. Purple's eyes widened as she turned to look at the camera. He immediately turned the screen off. Interesting.

I shifted my focus to my youngest son, Orange, who was delightfully sketching... hearts. Why would my little boy draw hearts? Unless... is Orange in love? Could it be April? No. He sees her as his sister. He couldn't have found someone; it was too soon! I had never seen Orange leave our home. If it's not April, then who? It couldn't be those two girls who were here; even I know they're in a relationship.

This was getting ridiculous!

When did my boys start in their dating phase?

I know... it all started with Goth Boy, who slithered into our lives and tricked my Baby Blue! That boy filled Blue's head with... I don't know what, but it's not good for him!

A sweet scent touched my nostrils. I excused myself, telling them I was going to the bathroom. My three sons said a simple "'kay" as I followed the scent. The smell wasn't inside; if it were, it would've made my nose twitch. The scent was farther. Far but coming in closer with each step. I stepped outside.

My discovery came sooner than I anticipated. I hid behind a corner, watching for figures approaching. My claws sunk into the wall behind me, keeping me from jumping out of my hiding spot.

We walked together in comfortable silence. We had a great time at Run of the Mill. Senor Hueso was glad to see Merrill even though the skeleton acted like he didn't care. Maybe it was Merrill's charming smile that melts down anyone's walls or the fact that the skeleton really missed him.
