Chapter 10 - That Moment

ALDEN'S POV: He stopped at the end of the hallway, hand on his chest, listening to screams of people that might give him a sign on where to go. His heart beating fast he thought, this is it! Something is telling him to turn to the right and he did and there she is...

MAINE'S POV: She went back at the other end of the same hallway, thrembling, fidgeting. Her chest feels like its going to burst. She stayed there for a while looked at the other end of the hallway, hoping to find him but no. She turned around, she felt like leaving and giving up then she felt someone looking at her, she turned around and there he is...

He stared at her, saw her smile, he froze for a while still holding on to his chest as if his heart will escape anytime, stunned but a smile formed on his face.

Alden's thoughts: "Shit! eto na sya, she looked gorgeous and cute on that dress. Her smile, that charming smile looked so sexy... God I want to hug her!"

She looked straight at him, her eyes scanned the whole of him. She's shaking but managed to smile

Maine's thoughts: "OMG ang gwapo nya lalo in black! Those biceps grabe makes my throat dry. His smile...that bedimpled smile makes my knees turned jelly."

Sabay silang humakbang palapit sa isa't isa.... one step, two step, three... she threw him a kiss he caught it and touched his cheeks. He threw her one and she caught it touched her cheek at umarteng mahihimatay at humawak pa sa dingding. Natawa silang pareho.

They looked at each other in the eyes.  Nakita ni RJ ang luhang namumuo sa mata ni Dei.  Napansin ni Dei na teary eyed si RJ.  Nginitian nila ang isa't isa.  Humakbang ulit silang pareho palapit sa isa't isa.  One step, two steps, pakiramdam ni RJ gusto niyang tumakbo palapit kay Dei at yakapin ito.  She wanted to close their gap and hold his face. Isa't kalahating  metro na lang ang lapit nila sa isa't isa.  Pinagmasdan ni RJ ang mukha niya and nasa isip, "mali sila, maganda siya."   Hawak pa rin ni RJ ang dibdib.  Si Dei naman nakatingin sa mata ni RJ ang nasa isip, "ang ganda ng mata niya at ang ngiti niya."  Gusto niyang haplusin ang pisngi nito.  They both extended their arms towards each other at hahakbang na lang sila ng biglang bumagsak sa pagitan nilang dalawa ang isang plywood.  

He ran towards her, tried to catch it before it reach the floor, she was in shock... froze on her tracks then... BAM!!! 

Narinig ni Dei ang boses ni RJ "Damn!"  at malakas na sinuntok at hinampas nito ang plywood. Humakbang si Dei at sinubukang abutin ang tuktok ng plywood.  Narinig ni RJ na nagsalita si Dei ... "Shit!".

Narinig nila ang boses ni Lola, pinapagalitan sila. Pero parang wala silang naririnig pareho kung hindi ang mga tumatakbo sa isip nila.

Richard's thoughts: "Ano ba? Bakit nyo to ginagawa sa amin. Ang sakit. Ms. Jenny naman eh. God please I wanted to touch her, held her in my arms"

and with those thoughts he let his emotions out. Pumatak ang mga luha sa mata ni RJ.  Narinig din niyang umiiyak at humihikbi si Dei at ibinulong ang pangalan niya.

Dei's  thoughts: "Argh! Shit! Direk Pat naman eh sabi mo magkikita kame but I didn't expect this. God why does my heart hurt so much? I wanted to look in his eyes, touch his face. This is torture!"

With that in mind she sighed and let her tears out. Hinaplos ang plywood at paulit-ulit na ibinulong ang pangalan ni RJ.

The television showed that priceless reaction of both Richard and Dei.  Ang audience, pati na ang pamilya ni Dei na nanonood ng mga oras na yon sa  studio at ang lahat ng hosts at staff ng naturang palabas ay umiyak ding lahat.  It was indeed a very successful episode, one for the books.

Matapos ang show,  naghanda ng paalis ang lahat. Lumapit si Joey at hinawakan sa balikat si TJ

Joey:  Musta bata? anong pakiramdam?" 

Hindi napigil ni RJ ang sarili, niyakap si Joey.

RJ:  Tito, iba na ang nararamdaman ko.

Hinaplos ni Joey ang likod nito 

Joey:  Ok lang yan.

Lumapit si Ruby at niyakap si RJ

Ruby:  RJ, ayan nagkita na kayo, ano?

Ngumiti na si RJ, gumanti ng yakap at hinalikan ito sa pisngi.

RJ:   Ang saya, finally!"

Allan:  Ano feeling ng magtama mga mata ninyo?

RJ:  Iba, di ko maipaliwanag ang feeling.

Nagbiro naman si Sam

Sam:  Papi grabe ramdam ka namin mukhang gusto mo ng sugurin eh.

Nagtawanan sila at nagblush siya biglang nasabi niya... "Mas maganda pala si Dei sa malapitan".

Everyone said in unison, "Uuuyyyy si RJ!".  Nagkanya-kanya ng alisan ang mga ito.

Dinala si Dei sa condo niya after the show. The van parked at the entrance of the basement parking.  Sa buong byahe papunta doon, walang imik si Dei. 

Direk Pat:  Dei, sorry ha, I am just following orders and the management wanted to show both your real emotions kaya hindi namin sinabi about the plywood. It was a success, audience cried, the dabarkads cried, your family too. They feel you.

Sinubukan niyang ngumiti.

Dei:  Ok lang Ate Pat its all for the show. Successful naman eh ok na yon.

Pero hindi pa rin niya napigilan ang maiyak.

Dei:  Pero masakit eh, at hindi ko alam kung bakit.

Lumapit si Pat sa tabi niya at niyakap siya  to comfort her. 

Dei:  Natural lang yan, because you like him. Normal lang yan kasi ang tagal nyo ng gustong makita ang isa't isa.

Nakita ni Direk Pat na napangiti siya. Nanukso ito.

Direk Pat:  Uuuyyy ikaw ah, baka iba na yan?!

Samantala, sa broadway, wala na ang ibang host pero nandon pa si RJ. Nilapitan ni Richard si Ms. Jenny.

RJ: Ms. Jenny, can I ask you a favor?

Ms. Jenny:  After that episode I think you deserve something, Sige, ano ba yon?

RJ:  Alam ko pong bawal kaming magusap pero pwede po bang tawagan nyo si Direk Pat at kamustahin si Dei? Umiiyak po kasi sya kanina.

Napangiti si Ms. Jenny ang nasa isip, "mabait at genteleman talaga ang batang ito." Dinukot ang cellphone sa bulsa at idinial ang number ni Direk Pat. Tahimik lang na nakaabang si RJ.

Pagkatapos ng unang ring inilgay ito ni Ms. Jenny sa speaker phone.

Ms. Jenny:  Hello Pat? Kamusta si Dei?

Direk Pat:  Ok naman po siya nandito na po kami sa condo.

Ms. Jenny:  Pat put me on speaker phone kausapin ko si Dei.

Tumingin siya kay Richard at sumenyas na huwag siyang maingay,  ngumiti ito. 

Dei:  Hello po, Ms. Jenny.

Ms. Jenny:  Hi  Dei, kamusta? Ok ka lang? I want to congratulate you for a job well done.

Dei:  Ok lang naman po, thank you po, medyo mabigat po sa dibdib pero successful naman yung episode so Ok na po yon.

Ms. Jenny:  O sige pahinga ka na, see you tomorow. Balik mo kay Pat yung phone.

Nagpaalam na si Dei kay Ms. Jenny at iniabot ang phone kay Direk Pat.

Direk Pat:  Yes, Ms. Jenny?

Ms. Jenny:  Pat, balik ka dito pagkahatid mo kay Dei

Direk Pat:  Ok po, si Richard Ms. Jen nakauwi na?

Ms. Jenny:  Pinauwi ko na napagod sa kakaiyak eh.

Nagtawanan sila.  Namula ang mukha ni RJ at napangiti naman si Dei.
